Of Headaches and Help

As soon as he said those words, my head exploded in pain again, and I staggered into the bench. My head felt like it was filled with the energy of about ten million stars, all pent up inside the small space of my skull. Enough energy to create a miniature black hole in my head, at least. I could feel the stares of the people around me as I breathed heavily into my arm and closed my eyes. I don't know how long I remained in that position, but soon I was being shook by Mark's friend. "Hey! HEY! Are you okay?" Micah asked frantically. I numbly opened my eyes, only to see that Mark had come back from his quest for food and that both him and Micah were gazing into my eyes. I broke the connection, muttering once again, "Yeah... yeah I'm fine."

"Suuuuure. Like I totally believe you." Micah rolled his eyes. I sat up from the bench, massaging my forehead. The pain had finally died down. Looks like there was another side to Mark's new friend: sarcastic. I glanced at my Time Display on the top right of my headset. 12:45. Oh gosh. I flailed my arms around. That's not nearly enough time. I rushed to my feet, completely ignoring the dull pain in my head. "How long were we here? Why is it 12:45 already?! WHY HAVEN'T YOU TOLD ME THIS?!"

"You were sleeping off the pain?"

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME. YOU DEEMED THIS FACT IRRELEVANT TO TELL ME OR WAKE ME UNTIL NOW?" For some reason, this line sent another shockwave of pain through my head. I ignored it, thinking that it was still leftover pains from before. I said my quick goodbyes, seeing as they were also leaving, and raced down the halls and out the door towards my parking space.

Hopping onto my bike, I retracted my bike I.D from the system and zoomed out of the parking lot. One of these days I was going to get a ticket, but at the moment I really didn't care at all. Everything was a passing blur, sometimes accompanied by a passing flash of black as the gradually increasing snowfall nailed pain into my head. Why a gentle snowfall, barely more than a flurry hurt so much, I don't know. Now that I think about it, there are a lot of things that I don't know. That I have questions for, but simply not answers.

The swift ride to the dorms was silent, the snow masking every sound. Not even the other vehicles on the road were able to shatter the silence. I parked my motorcycle in the space designated and ran inside the complex. Almost kicking down the door, I burst into the room, only to find that while I was gone, Marilyn had given my graduation clothes to the dry cleaner.

Putting on the articles of clothing that I could, I then rushed down three levels to get to the dry cleaner's shop. Finally reaching my destination, I called out my name, and my clothing was given to me. Entering one of the changing rooms on the side of the shop, I quickly assembled my outfit before rashly fixing my hair. Once I looked mediocre enough, I quickly walked outside to where the graduation was taking place. Clicking footsteps were once again muffled by the cascading snow. I counted the metres to the Biology Wing in my head, eventually reaching 200. As always. I stood outside the glass double doors, preparing myself for what would happen next. I reached for the crystalline door handle, pulling it open to reveal wave of both solemn silence and spontaneous sound.
