Prolouge pt 2

I woke up with a start. Where am I?

I looked all around me. Where was Rii? I stood up. I'm in a cell. Wait, I recognize this technology. It's galran. Did we really get abducted be galra?

I walked around the room doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. I sat down and looked around the room. It was soft smooth purple. There was no dents in the walls at all.

I sighed and put my face in my palms. Just great. I'm trapped here. All alone. I pulled my knees to my chest resting my head on them. I could hear the steps of the patrolling galra.

I scanned the room again. I saw nothing. Just, emptiness. I looked towards the doors. There was a dent in the wall. Strange. It looked like it connected to a hand pad on the other side of the door.

I scrambled to the doors. I started to claw at the thing trying to pry it out if the wall. I dug my fingers in the dent and used all my strength to rip it off the wall.

It actually worked.

A bunch of wires were revealed to me. I started to disconnect wires and connect them to my arm brace. A hologram showed up on my arm and I started to hack into the system to get the door open.  Before pressing the button to open the door, I listened for any patrols. Nothing. I open the door.

I peeked out of the doors looking both ways and crossed the hallway. I speed walked down looking in the other prisoner cells. I haven't come across any galra soldiers yet. Strange.

I continued to run down the hallway. I skimmed every cell trying to find Kraskolrii. Where is she? I stared to run faster. I need to find her before I get out of here.

Suddenly, I feel a shooting pain in my shoulder. My hand shot up onto my shoulder and held it for a few seconds. My hand come back with a thick layer of blood on it. I looked behind me to find that 2 galra soldiers were running towards me. I ran faster, a trail of blood following close behind me.

I dived to the left to avoid the on slaughter of lasers fired my way. My shoulder took most of the damaged. I screamed in pain through clenched teeth.

Suddenly, I heard three loud bangs behind me including a war cry. "Rrrah!!! Get away from him!!!" I recognized that voice. It was Rii's. "Rii!!" I exclaimed. "You found me!!!"

"I smelled your blood. I was originally just following your regular scent but once you got shot, my nose was overpowered. Never bleed again." As she said that to me, she picked me up and put me over her shoulder. I didn't argue.

We ran to the escape pods. Or rather Rii did. She ran faster with every step she took. An army of soldiers were chasing us.

She kicked the door down, not having enough time to escape undetected, and ran to the escape pod closest to the door. She got in, placed me in the passenger seat, and started up the pod. She pressed a button to open the main door to the room and flew out of the galra ship just as the galra soldiers made it into the room.

My breathing started to get unsteady. I tried to take deep breaths. I touched my shoulder. It was still spewing blood.

I started to see dots. Those dots we're kinda pretty. "Don't pass out on me Adrian." Rii pleaded.

"I'm not sure I can promise you that." I said laughing a bit.

I blacked out.

I felt a thin warm liquid trail down my mouth falling on my shirt. As I drank, I felt the liquid go down the wrong pipe. I started to chiloke and cough trying to get the liquid out of my lungs. I felt a hand patting my back as I did so.

I calmed down and looked at my surroundings. I was in a cave. I was sitting a few feet away from a lit fire. Next to me, there were a few cups and bowls, they were wooden. I was being covered up with a huge leaf, like a makeshift blanket. What I was previously using as a pillow was a bunch of leaves tied together nicely.

And finally I looked to my left and saw the eyes of my guardian. Rii's eyes. They looked as if they were constantly reflecting the Galaxy on it's best nights. And I wasn't even exaggerating.

"You're finally awake." Rii said. I tried to turn myself to face her fully but I felt a searing pain in my left shoulder. I looked at it and saw that it was heavily bandaged and soaked with blood. "Don't move too much. You're going to reopen the wound. I was going to change the bandages before you woke up." Rii said. I noticed that the left sleeve of my shirt had been cut off.

"Here, finish drinking the broth." She said again.

"I'm not hungry" I said to her.

"Doesn't matter. What you feel right now isn't what your needs are. We need to get something in your system so that you can be healthy again. Your shoulder was going to cause you to bleed to death I swear." She said again forcing me to drink more broth.

"Slowly now. Don't choke on it." She patted my back softly. When I was do e I set the bowl down. "So how long have we been here?" I asked.

"A week." Rii answered simply.

"I've been out for a full week?!?!" I asked/yelled.

"Not a week straight. You've been in and out of consciousness. You just don't remember. Blood loss can do a lot to you. I would know." She said to me. I could see the way her eyes dimmed as she looked off into the distance remembering the dark past she has had. But I wasn't sure if it was from this life or one of her past ones. I never had a way of knowing unless she told me herself.

"Hey, you gonna come back to reality or no?" I asked. (*Author's note* I can't use the phrase earth to Rii cause they're not on earth😭😭😭)

"Oh, yeah. I'm gonna go collect so.e more herbs alright? Get some sleep, rest, whatever." She stumbled over her words.

"Alright." I responded. She left the cave into the forest. I lowered myself farther into the makeshift leaf blanket thing and closed my eyes. I couldn't lay in my left side like I normally do so I had to lay on my back making it harder for me to sleep, but I eventually left to sleep a dreamless sleep.

I was being pulled off the ground causing me to wake up. Rii was in a huge rush for some reason. "Hey what's wrong?"

"The galra, they're in orbit! We have to leave right now!" She said. She pulled on my arm again pulling me out of the cave opening my wound. I clenched my teeth trying to muffle my screams in pain.

She let go of my arm and faced the cave. She took a deep breath and blew. Fire came out of her mouth engulfing the whole cave in flames. "Leave no evidence of where our next where about may be." She said in my direction, but more to herself. She grabbed my wrist again and pulled me closer to her. I was still shocked that she used her fire breath. I've never seen her do that before. No one has. Or at least in this life of hers.

I looked ahead and saw a huge pile of leaves. She dug them up and revealed the escape pod. We both got in and started to fly off into space. It would've been a much smoother ride if galra forces didn't start to shoot at us. Rii sped up trying to dodge all the lasers at once. But that kinda failed as the left wing was shot making the space craft uneven.

Rii started to panic a bit. I could tell. Her breathing started to become raggedy and quick. She leaned forward in her seat. She closed her eyes for a few seconds and her breathing became normal once again. Our other wing was shot. Rii grabbed onto my wrist and pressed the eject button. We we're shot into space and Rii summoned her wings. She flew away from the on slaught of space craft. "Wormhole, wormhole, wormhole. . ." She whispered to herself as she closed her eyes. She wrapped her hand around mine and summoned . . . A wormhole. We didn't even have a teleduv or anything! She gained some momentom, and wrapped her huge wings around us like a pod to protect us as we went through the wormhole.
