Chapter 4

"What the quiznack is this all about?" Allura questioned as we walked passed her into the kitchen.

"Well," I started as we placed the meet on the counter. "I was feeling a little bit off today when I woke up. So, instead of just getting green goo, I asked hunk to cook me something. So me and Keith went off to hunt something. Oh and!" I said pulling out a medium size bag hanging from my pocket. "Here are some herbs I picked up! Some are meant for more medical means, to put in tea and such, but they're mostly for the meat."

I placed the bag on the table. "How are we going to cook that?" Shiro asked coming out of nowhere, startling most of us.

Me and Keith looked at each other. We hadn't really thought about that. We looked at the large price of meat.

It was about 2 1/2 feet in length and had a diameter of 1  foot. There was a holo part where all of the other organs had been taken from, but other than that, it had a big belly. Keith and I had cut off the legs though, because it was way too heavy otherwise.

"We probably should've just taken the legs," Keith said after a moment of silence. I quietly agreed with him.

"But on the bright side!" I said walking towards pidge and picking up one of the pups. "Look what we got!" I handed Allura the Holga.

"Oh, he's really cute! But, he definitely needs to be cleaned off. As well as you two" she said gesturing to me and Keith, who where covered in mud, had grass in our hair, and the blood of our feast practically all over.

Before we walked out though I said, "Don't tell Adrian about the pups yet alright? I wanna surprise him with them once they're all cleaned off!" And with that, Keith went off with the Holga, and I went off with the Lian, to clean both us, and the pups.

I walked into the kitchen smelling nothing but meat. I practically drooled at the mouth. I looked towards the counter seeing that there wasn't a price of raw meat on it, so I sat on it. I layer the Lian on my lap and pet it. There was a thin coating of fur on her, and it had unstuck to her skin once she was cleaned off.

"Hey Rii!" Hunk said to me. I smiled at him. "So how the hell did you guys fit that thing in the oven?" I asked them.

"We didn't." I was confused. "Not the whole thing anyway. We cut along the rib bones and placed the rest of it in the fridge. Luckily though, the fridge was quite empty. After all, we only ever eat the green goo."

I looked over to where pidge was, and saw that she was petting the Holga. He had a thicker coat than his sister though. He looked really fluffy.

"So, where's Keith? I assume he's done with his shower because of the Holga," I stated.

"Oh, he's in the training deck." It took me a moment to register what Pidge had said.

I blinked a few times before responding, "Is he crazy!? We almost died this morning! I need to stop him!" I had already started getting off the counter.

"Oh wait! I have a question!" Pidge said, making me stop. "You keep referring to these pups as 'the holga' and 'the lian' so is that their names or what?"

"Oh, you didn't know? Holga is the name of the males, and Lian is the name of the female! The species name is the Hilgolean Sentiar. So to answer your question, no they don't have names. I was thinking that Adrian could name them when he sees them. His birthday is about 2 weeks from now, so I was thinking it could be his present." I set the Lian on the counter. "Since they were removed from the womb a bit early, they're legs don't have the strength to walk, so be careful with them. And the usually don't open their eyes until two weeks before the birth, so they'll be sensitive to light."
