Chapter 7

Jamilah's P.O.V

After parking the ducati by the lake, I jumped off it grabbing my coffee thermos with me, I jogged

towards the big rocks that slept silently in the lake reaching the last one, I slowly sat there placing the

thermos on my side I inhaled a vast amount of air before washing my hands with the lake's water. I

looked at my reflection by the help of the full moon which reminded me to fast tomorrow I softly

removed my lenses and threw them into the water. I stared at my self, seeing only one eye was obvious

while the other was to dark to be reflected as I placed my hand on my right eye trying to calm it's

wildness and sooth it down, I hated how I always hid my eyes with these fake lenses it hid everything,

even I couldn't read myself when I saw my reflection on any surface, my right eye was light, brown in

color compared to my left one which was dark brown more like black, simply they were like gold and

black together, my mom had hazel brown irises while my dad had chocolate ones, I didn't know where

I got the mix from but I never minded, in fact I thought it was cool, having a pair of eyes of different

color wasn't something you would always come across or wish for, I hated my right eye, so bright that

it made me hate it wishing if I had both my eyes wrapped up or blind instead of seeing the accident.

I ran from them and crossed the road approaching the old peach tree happy because I was getting

my bandage removed, I was born with my left eye partially blind , had to wait for my tenth birthday

to do the surgery, thanks to Allah the surgery was done in success never feeling so happy in my a

decade life, Jabir and Jamal promised me that they would take me to the old peach tree and I would

open my bandage there, I looked behind me making sure that they didn't catch me as I placed my

hand on the trunk of the old tree I jumped up and down my short hair dangling around my ears, I

turned around again looking for the boys but finding them in no sight I walked back to the road and

stopped in my track then looked behind me to the old tree making sure that they weren't pulling any

pranks on me,

like hiding behind the trees then announcing that they had passed me to the old tree , I shook my head

and walked back to the peach tree and sat under it making sure my hand was on it's trunk proving

that I had touched it first, I tilted my head to the side letting my free right eye wander over the trees

searching for them, I brushed the leaves of my yellow dress with my small hands and straighted my

legs crossing them at the ankle, I sighed getting tired of whatever they were planning on about, I stood

up quickly after hearing the sound of tires screeching, they made an unpleasant high-pitched noise on

the road, I ran as fast as I could shocked that they were going to leave me alone in a deserted place,

as soon as I reached the road I could observe Jabir's black Mercedes parked at the base of the mountain,
