Jessica stretches her arms out, as if to protect me... which is exactly what she is doing. I look up in astonishment. She turns her head and looks down at me, and smiles.
"Jess!? What are you doing?" Chris asks, annoyed."I don't wanna be part of your little games anymore!" Jessica answers with a newfound anger. We all stared at her. Jessica wasn't one to yell - let alone be mad. Caleb speaks up.
"Okay then. If this is really what you want. Just remember, the next time you see us, we won't be on good terms..."
He and Caleb turn on their heels and walk away. Jessica, finally, turns her whole body towards me. She stretched out her hand and helped me up.
"No more lies?" I enquire."No more lies." Jessica repeated.
"No more tricks?"
"No more tricks."
I smile as we embrace each other.
"I honestly thought you were gonna go off with Christian and Caleb.""Well... I was, but... you've been more of a friend to me then those two ever have. And we've known each other for five years!"
Five years is a long time to know someone. Jess is incredibly sweet. She couldn't hurt a fly. I think us two will get along.--------------------
I stare up at the ceiling, trying to fall asleep. I can't shake the feeling that I forgot to do something. I turn on my bedside lamp and sit up. I pace back and forth near my bed.
Still nothing...
I look out the window and see the moon, bright, against the dark canvas of the night sky. I look further down and see the 'Enchanted Forest'. My mind drifted back to yesterday.
...
"Nothing is, it's just... thank you. For caring." I wipe away the tears then look up at the sky. It's getting dark. "I have to go home now. See you tomorrow?"
See you tomorrow...
See you tomorrow...
...
Shoot!
