Laya comes to a halt in a small cave. The wolf lowers herself again which allows me to get down along with the princess.
"You okay, Saria?" I ask quietly."Yes I am. I'm far enough away from the forest damage."
Laya walks outside the cave and lays down right outside the entrance. Even though she says she's okay, I'm still worried about Saria. I look over to her and see her peacefully sleeping with her head on my shoulder. She did look really cute. I feel myself drifting off into sleep until I hear a voice. I look towards the entrance and see Laya heard it too. She stands up and growls, waiting for her opponent to come... until we see it's Jessica!Laya leads her into the cave and then goes back outside to keep watch.
"Glad to see you're safe Jessica.""I'm glad to see you safe, too. Is Saria okay?"
"Yeah, she just needs rest."
We stay in silence for a bit until Jess speaks.
"Hey, look!" She points. I look to where she is pointing, and see grass and small flowers growing near Saria's feet. At least I can be extra sure she's okay. I hear a growl coming from the entrance of the cave to see Laya standing up in a defensive position. I tilt my head to see outside and spot smoke.
"I though I would've bought more time than that." Jessica states."Alright, time to move on out." I say, picking Saria up bridal style and taking her out of the cave. I put her into a comfortable position on Laya's back and we start a quick pace in the opposite direction of the smoke. The further we get away from the smoke, however, the less safe I feel. Fortunately, though, Saria starts waking up. I get Laya to stop and I help Saria up.
"You okay?" I whisper.
"Yes, I am, but-" The princess starts but it is stopped by a headache. She tries to continue, "they are...here..."
