"Wedding planning will be the death of me." I groaned putting my head in my hands. Between managing all the interviews, concerts, meet and greets, and whatever else the boys had going on I barley had time to plan this wedding. It had to be perfect.
"Ok, I ordered the shoes, called the bakery, arranged a meeting with the florist, what am I missing?" I said making a mental checklist.
"Ann, darling take it easy." Wes cooed rubbing my shoulders. I relaxed a bit, until I remembered.
"The dress!" I panicked "I need a dress, who's gonna take me to get a dress?!" I was running around completely stressed out. Landon and Carter grabbed my arms and forced me to sit down and rest.
"We will take you, us three. Just calm down" Landon suggested, Seth and Carter agreed.
"You three?" I asked raising an eyebrow. "Three boys? Taking me to get my wedding dress? This should be fun." So we agreed, three o'clock the boys and I were heading to a wedding boutique downtown. Wesley however, due to wedding tradition, was not allowed to see the dress, and had to stay home.
"Oh! I've gotta call my sister!" I wailed. "She's suppose to be flying in from Texas next week, I've gotta tell her our plans."
My sister Kensley was about four years older than me, and I had always looked up to her for advice. I remember the day she left for college, I sat in her empty room and cried for hours. She was always so poised and wise, any time I had a problem I always went to her, so when she left I was completely devastated. Two years later she came home from college. She didn't stay long, she had met a guy at college and they decided to get married. After the wedding she moved to Texas to pursue her career as a writer. I don't see her much anymore, mainly only on holidays, funerals, births, and in this case, a wedding.
She was such a big influence in my life so I had asked her to come home early to help me plan the wedding. Since I didn't have many friends I asked her to be my maidtron of honor. I also asked miss Frieda from the library and Ashton's sister Lauren to be my bridesmaids, which they happily agreed.
I took out my phone and dialed her number.
"Hey, kenz" I said when she answered.
"Hey sis, what's up, you're not stressing too much are you?"
"You have no idea" I drawled. "Hey listen, me and the boys are going to get my dress today, but don't worry I'll send pics."
"You, and three boys?!" she asked suspiciously, "That my dear is a recipe for disaster, if there's two things that don't go together, it's boys and a bridal shop." I laughed,
"Don't worry kenz, I got this."
I didn't have this. When we got to the bridal shop the boys instantly ran around the shop pointing out their own personal favorites. The consultants gave us annoyed looks, I just smiled apologetically.
"I have found it, this is the one!" proclaimed Seth. I gave him a dirty look.
"Seth, I'm not wearing a black wedding dress." I protested.
"Come on, it's punk rock." laughed Carter.
I went to the front counter to request a consultant. A smiling lady with her hair cut into a short bob greeted me.
"So, where's your entourage?" she asked. I turned and pointed out the boys.
"Umm, very well." She murmured "let's have a look shall we?"
I snapped at the boys and constrained them to sit in the chairs beside the run way. I waited in the dressing room for the lady to bring me my first dress. she opened the door and pushed a large tool ball gown in my direction. I marveled at it's enormous size. It was difficult to get into. I searched though the endless pools of tool until I finally found the head hole. I wigged into it and found myself in a bit of a dilemma, I couldn't get in this thing by myself. I poked my head out of the dressing room door,
"Uhhh, I need help." I muttered. The boys gave each other funny looks.
"I'm not doin it!" protested Landon, then Carter and Seth after him.
"Somebody get in here and help me!" I said sternly.
"HELP! WE NEED HELP!" Landon wailed running through the store. I shook my head. Kensley was right, boys and bridal shops don't go together.
My consultant returned and helped me slip into the dress. I walked out of the dressing room and onto the runway. I looked in the mirror and just shook my head.
"No, I don't think so." I declined.
"You look like a cupcake." laughed the boys. I shot them a look and trudged back into the dressing room. Dress after dress I was disappointed and wondered if I'd ever find the right one. The consultant stuck her head in the door.
"Umm, your umm..friends decided you should try this one on." She stuttered. I imagined it would be a black or green dress, or something crazy. I was surprised to see it wasn't, it was a white trumpet style dress with lace across the top. It looked decent so I tried it on. It fit comfortably and wasn't too puffy. I walked out onto the catwalk to have a look in the mirror. when I opened the door I was greeted by lots of clapping and cheering.
"That's it!"
"I love it"
"You look awesome!" The boys cooed. I turned and looked in the mirror. I was hit suddenly with an emotion I can't even explain. It was as if everything before this wasn't real, but now it hit me. Standing there in that dress it hit me that I was getting married. I couldn't help but cry, it was perfect and I couldn't stop smiling. The boys all awed.
"This, this is it." I whimpered. The boys all cheered.
"Group hug!!!!" they chanted. they all bombarded with hugs.
"You boys did good, you actually found a good dress!" I laughed.
"What can we say? We are pretty awesome." Landon bragged.
"Wait!" yelled Carter, "There's more!"
Carter pulled out a veil from behind his back and placed it on my head. I walked to the mirror and looked it over, on the end of the clip was the image of a hand making the rock and roll symbol.
"We had it made for you!" shouted Seth.
"A rock and roll symbol? Really boys?" I laughed.
"Hey, you're marrying a rock star!" Landon said shrugging his shoulders.
