*Five years later*
"Daddy! Daddy! teach me teach me!" Shouted Vienna running over to sit in Wesley's lap.
"You wanna learn how to drum baby girl?" he asked in his cute baby voice.
"Yeppppp!" She sang. I sat back as Wesley picked up our wiggling toddler and put her on his lap. He put the drumsticks in her tiny hands and took her hands in his. He began to drum lightly as Vienna giggled at the sound.
I sat back in my comfy chair and wrapped myself in a warm blanket. Days like this were my favorite, sitting back with my warm coffee watching Wesley patiently playing with our baby. I say she's a baby, but she's really not. she just turned four and is eager to soak up any information her daddy will supply.
I loved watching them together, I just loved having them there. Wesley's band is still going strong so he's away a lot, so it's nice when we have time together just to relax. As for Vienna, she just adores when uncle Landon, Seth, and Carter come to visit her. When they come around she is treated like royalty, the boys absolutely adore taking care of her. Even at her young age she's already developed a love of music and is always drumming on stuff, trying to imitate her dad.
Now I would love to tell you that Wesley and I's relationship has been all butterfly's and flowers, but that would be a lie. Like every other couple we had our ups and downs, but somehow we always got through it. It's hard when he's away, but it's ok, he knows I'll be at home waiting for him. I'll love him no matter how far the distance, or what the circumstance because honestly, he saved my life. Even after all these years, he still gives me butterflies.
I suppose in the end , 3,000 miles, isn't too far, but I like him right here, at home in my arms.
