[HER P.O.V.]
I intake a shaky breath and exhale a giant sigh as I walk out of the crowd's view and into the storage room. I peer down at my hands and notice them involuntarily trembling, my heart continuing to thump at a hundred miles per hour in my chest as if wanting to escape the safe place it was in.
I dragged myself towards a nearby seat and flopped my butt on its soft cushions. I rubbed my temples in exhaustion as I shut my surroundings out by closing my eyes, letting myself rest for awhile.
I would always get this way after I preformed in front of a large crowd. It truly bugged me. I loved doing what I do but, somehow, this always seemed to happen.
I frowned deeply causing wrinkles to form on my forehead and stared at the cool, cement, ground in self-pity. The shimmering of my shining sun dress caught my attention and caused me to break my stare-down at the floor and gaze at its radiance.
My long chestnut colored hair was straightened and cascaded down my shoulders as my head's position shifted.
The golden strapless dress hugged my body tightly, refusing to hide any of my womanly curves and a huge chunk of my back. Its length hung slightly below my knees, revealing my calves and the sparkling gold five inch heels I wore that were mercilessly suffocating my feet.
My alone time was ruined as a tall blonde woman hastily entered the storage room. Her eyes roamed the tiny room frantically until they landed on me. The worried expression she wore instantly fell off her face and was drenched with newfound relief. She exhaled a large breath I presume she was holding for a while now and scurried towards me, engulfing me in her warm embrace.
"Oh my sh*t, you need to stop scaring me like that! Do you know how worried I was about you, you stupid hoe."
She pulled back and glared at me disapprovingly as I burst into laughter at her lecture.
I smiled at her gleefully. She was my best friend, Leah. She was a college student and had been working in Melody way before I had. She was the one that taught me everything I know about this business.
"I'm sorry I worried you," I murmured genuinely, "I just seem to be a little shaken up is all."
Leah stared deeply into my eyes and let the softness of her porcelain hand caress my cheek. Silence swimming through the air as words seeped through her blue orbs.
'You know you can tell me anything.' They seemed to have said.
I shook my head and denied her eyes. I didn't want to speak to her about my problem yet. It had a sea deep meaning that I was not ready to speak to anyone about at the moment.
She nodded her head in understanding and patted my head gingerly.
"At least tell me where you are next time, okay? You're like a little sister and I can't help but worry about you."
She vigorously stood up and stared at particularly nothing with a fearsomely shocked expression. She peered down at me, making her tall figure hover over me tremendously, and gawked at me as if a forgotten thought had suddenly slipped into her mind.
"Jenna, it's treating time." She said in a sing-song voice, excitement in her eyes.
I looked up at her towering figure and tilted my head in confusion.
"I thought we only did that when Melody reached its every five hundredth customer. I clearly remember singing to the nice woman Mrs. Mendez already, so..." I cutoff my sentence as I contemplated over what she had told me. After a while, it finally sunk in.
