Chapter 7: Curiosity and Suspicion

[HIS P.O.V.]

The school day passes by even more painfully slower than the last and I moan in frustration. The only reason I hadn't skipped or walked out of my classes is because I was waiting. I was waiting for the person that was always on my mind to walk in through that front door. The very person that dangerously contaminated my mind with every passing hour. Jenna, the remarkable girl with brains. Why couldn't I get her out of my head?

I had heard she fainted but it was already the second week of school and she still didn't grace the supposedly "educational prison" with her presence. I began to worry if something bad happened to her when she fainted.

But it wasn't only Jenna that planted herself in my mind but John as well. Ever since the incident of him falling for someone all over again, he's been distant with everyone, especially me. He never brought up the subject and when I asked him about how it went with the special girl he became vague and quickly changed the subject. It was so annoyingly frustrating and I had already reached my limit of patience.

When the bell had finally rung for the fifth time that day I sprinted out of the boring classroom and headed towards John's locker. Just as I had expected, he was already there and I continued to speed towards him. He glanced at me and simply nodded his head in a "hey" gesture. When I was in front of him though, I banged his shoulder hard against the lockers.

He glared at me furiously and started to growl between his teeth. "What the hell, man?"

"What the hell with you. Sh*t, your starting to annoy the f*ck out of me."

"What are you talking about?" He hissed, acting as if he didn't understand.

"Stop acting stupid. What's up with you lately, you're not even talking to Erik or Will anymore. What really happened that day?"

People started to creep towards us and encircle us in the center of their crowd of bodies. John took notice of our audience but didn't bother to acknowledge them.

"I already told you, nothing happened." He voiced through clenched teeth.

"You're lying."

"I'm not lying."

"Something did happen and I know it."

"If you know already then why bother asking for details?"

My blood boiled and at that moment I felt where my nerves snapped. That's when I did something I would regret and always regret for the rest of my life. I pulled my hand back and with all of my strength, I crashed my hand with John's jaw. His head quickly snapped to the side with the amount of force from the punch and he stayed frozen in place with shock plastered on his face.

The foolish body of students that surrounded us increased in hormones and started yelling for us to fight. John slowly turned towards me and what I saw made my stomach churn. His eyes were lifeless orbs and burning with betrayal and anger.

Finally falling into the shouts of the crowd, he charged towards me and banged me against the lockers on the opposite wall. He aimed his fist to my gut and his other went straight to my face. I blocked him from punching my gut but my cheek received no such protection and it ached from the massive blow. I returned an uppercut to his chin and while he backed up I kicked his chest causing him to fall over. I pinned his body down and threw him many blows to the face but he surprised me by flipping me over and elbowing my stomach. I groaned in pain and we continued to fight with the screams of practically the entire student body.

We were suddenly broken apart when two giant security guards broke us apart. They held both of our hands behind our backs but that didn't stop neither one of us from trying to rip away from their grasps and try to tear each other apart again. We stopped struggling when they made a great distance between us before forcing us into the principal's office. They let go of us and pushed us both inside the large room.
