shit

my eyes went wide and i froze for a bit, then i walked away from the dance floor for a while to the hallway.

i stood there, going through my mind.

why does he have to be here?

is this a sign?

a sign that i shouldn't have fun.

no, more like a sign to leave.

i was planning to go find dina and francine and tell them that i'm going back to the hotel because of zion until someone interrupted my thoughts.

"there you are." "oh, hey justin." in his hands were two cups that were refilled. "here's your cup m'lady." he said cheekily and handed me my cup. "thank you kind sir." i mocked and drank my cup.

"so, why'd you leave the dance floor?" "it was just... too crowded. and loud. back here is nicer." i shrugged. "yes indeed." he got closer to me.

"what? what is this?" i laughed. "well, i think you're a nice girl. a beautiful nice girl. and, i'd like to hang out sometime. only if you're up for it."

"i'm totally up for it, except i don't live here." "i don't either. i live in la." of course you do.

"no, i mean, i live in texas. i go to baylor university." "ah. so, you're a nice, beautiful, smart, yeehaw girl huh?" he laughed. "oh my- texas is not a yeehaw stat- okay well some parts are yeehaw-ish but where i'm from, it's not."

"well, i'm loving it." he winked at me and my cheeks were burning yet again.

"so, maybe, tomorrow, if you're still here, i'd love to hang out." he put his hand against the wall. "maybe, i'd love that." i smiled and leaned in.

"livvy! i found zion for you. i know you guys haven't seen each other in such a long time." dina came in. "hey zion." "hey justin." the two did the annual bro handshake-hug-thing. "you two know each other?" justin asked, drinking. "no." zion and i said in sync.

"what do you mean silly billies? you two grew up with each other. now c'mon justin, i know she's a whole meal but let's give them some space." dina said, leaving. justin stared at us for a moment then left.

after a couple of seconds of awkward silence, zion sighed. "well, i'll get out of your way and life and just go back to the hotel room." i brushed past him. "okay, bye."

"what?" i turned back. "what? you said you were leaving so... bye." he waved for me to leave. "you're supposed to tell me to stay you idiot." "why? you literally just said you wanted to leave." He rolled his eyes.

"you really don't get it huh? zion, we're best friends, more than best friends zion. i love you, and you said you loved me too." "olivia, we were just kids an-" "'just kids' my ass zion. stop using that same line as an excuse." I stood there with my arms crossed.

"i see you still have the necklace and ring. i'm surprised you didn't throw it away." he said, staring at the jewelry.

"why would i throw something that my best friend, the guy i love, or excuse me, loved, gave me when we were eighteen and promised me to never forget each other and who we are, that we're best friends 'till the end. oh but wait," I ripped my necklace off along with my ring, put it in my cup and threw the cup at him. "we were just kids."

"you're crazy. you know that?" he called. "well, look who made me." i turned away and went to the dance floor to find justin.

i found him sitting down and talking to some guys.

"hey, everything alright?" "yeah, but i'm leaving." i put my hands in my pockets. "hey, are you sur-" i kissed him to shut him up and when i pulled away, he looked stunned. "take my number," he took a picture of it. "i leave tomorrow at 5 pm." i winked and left.

i told francine what happened and she begged to come with me but she was pretty busy so i walked back to the hotel by my self.

when i got in my bed, my thoughts were killing me.

why'd i do that?

i looked and seemed so childish.

that dick deserved that came to him.

at least i aimed right.

my thoughts drowned me into a good night sleep.

good, was an understatement.
