He twisted his fate between his fingers, thinking. It was thin and stretched taut between his fingers. It was spun blood, smooth and dark red. He wrapped one end around his left pinky, the other around his right, his thumbs lifting the middle. He smirks ever so slightly and nods.
"Alright. I'm ready."
The child looks up at him, a sad smile playing on her lips.
"Are you sure? There's no going back after this, and you know that."
He nods again.
"Completely. I've had this planned my entire life."
"Alright then..." Her voice trails off, and she lifts a large pair of ornate silver shears, tarnished by time and use. She cuts the thread.
He falls to the ground, dead.
A/N: Yet another weird short one. I'm sorry about this, alright? If I had more to write that I thought would fit with the vibe I'm trying to stick with for this story, you would know. You know why? Because I would have written it. I honestly would love it if I could write more, but I don't have anything to write, and what I do have isn't substantial enough to become more than a couple of sentences, maybe a paragraph. My writing is such a part of me that I have about 10 snippets like the ones in here sitting in a book that I have yet to publish, Programming Errors, simply because I'm not sure if I want to release that side of me onto the internet. I'm not sure if I'll ever publish it, honestly. As I'm writing, I'm realizing that this Author's Note is becoming longer than the actual chapter. (121 words vs 153 words XD)
