I look around my room, searching for something to distract me. My eyes settle on my headphones, and I slip them onto my head, picking a playlist made of songs sent to me. I lay down on my bed, and, soon enough, the metallic twang of the song is all I can hear.
I let myself get lost in the music, feeling the story of each song echoing through my soul. I close my eyes, and against the dark red of my eyelids, I see a spotlight on a stage.
There's someone on the stage. It's them. The next song starts to play, and they start to sing. I look around me and there's nobody else in the audience. They're singing to me. We're the only ones there.
My heart leaps into my chest, and a grin cracks across my face.
