lessons from a bus stop

I was sitting at a bus stop for half an hour and it struck me how little things, little details teach us about life. These things are almost unnoticeable, though we encounter them almost everyday.

So I was sitting there, waiting for my bus under hot sun. Many other buses came along, vehicles passed me, many people were on the ways to their destinations, yet there was I, just waiting and wishing for my bus to come along, the one I was waiting for so long.

Does it ring any bells?
Isn't it what we experience often?

That day i realized that truly, Life Isn't a Race.

Everyone is on his/her way, at own pace, going to different places. They get ahead of you, or i would rather say, they move past your sight,  and you feel like you are at the same place for so long. Bitterness and resentment take over, so much so that you start comparing everything you do with others. Your success gets defined by others, who are probably oblivious of what's going on with you and maybe they don't even Care.

You use so much of your energy feeling bad for being stuck at one place. At times you start calling yourself a loser, a failure. But really, what others do, where they go, has nothing to do with your life. They are living their own lives, just like you're living yours.

To reach point A, there are many ways you could use. Instead of just bus number xyz, i could have walked a little and would have been able to get into bus number abc and pqr. But i didnt. I was just sitting there for 30 minutes when i could have simply taken another way to get home. Or i could have taken cabs, trains, etc.

This article gives out two points.
One, don't waste your time and energy comparing your life with others.
Two, if you dont get the right chance, opportunity, you hustle and make another one. You don't get to cry and victimize yourself and just be there, hoping someone else would save you. You have to get your ass up and hustle, you have to decide your life's course. You are responsible for your actions. And YOU make opportunities knock at your door. You open ways in your life.

No one is going to save you.

You have to save yourself.

What are the lessons you learned from the common places or little things in life?

Smile. Be kind. Fall in love with yourself.
