44 Sneaking Around

We managed to avoid the MP but they were still hot on our tail.

"Ok here's the deal we split up, 4 of us together is a crowd and they'll find us easier" I said.

"Mina your with Petra, and I'm keeping an eye on Annie" I said.

Mina poated slightly.

"I know you wanted to go with me but I'll be fine stay safe and don't get caught" I said quickly kissing her lips and holding her hand.

"Be careful around her" Mina said. She's only saying that because she's slightly jealous.

"I always am" I said walking away.

We went our separate ways and ditched our survey core jackets to look more casual.

"First rule of going on the run is walk don't run" Annie said. She clearly had more spy experience than me.

"If I run in these boots their gonna fall off" I said.

We broke into a library to find some Intel, on the MP.

"No ones here at night so the MP will be here in approximately 9 minutes starting... Now" Annie said opening a book.

"Whoever hid the information about the walls is good but maybe we can find some hints in the paragraphs" Annie said.

After awhile we did hear MP's start to enter.

"Got it!" Annie said ripping off a page.

We got out the library and took cover.

"We're gonna need a horse" Annie said.

Just than we saw MP member walking towards us and had no where to go.

He's on duty so If he catches us were dead.

That's when Annie looked at me.

"Kiss me" Annie said.

I blushed intensely and had a look of shock, that caught me way off gaurd.

"What!?" I said.

"Public displays of effection make people very uncomfortable" She said.

"Yes they do" I said.

Annie just wrapped her arms around my neck and began making out with me. To make it look more natural I grabbed her hips and pulled her closer to me.

It seemed to work because the officer walked past us.

After that we broke away.

"Still uncomfortable?" Annie asked walking away with a slight sway in her hips.

"That's not exactly the word I would use" I said slightly turned on.

Timeskip

We managed to meet up with the others got the horse over the wall along with a wagon and began riding to our destination.

Since it was a long ride.

Petra, Mina, fell asleep on each others shoulders, looking adorable while doing so, Annie rode shock gun with me.

"We're did Captain Maria learn how to steal a horse?" Annie asked.

"Trost back than when I was out of training, and we're barrowing take your feet off the dash" I said.

Annie smirked at me before doing just that.

"Ok I have a question for you. Ah! Which you do not have to answer,I feel like you wouldn't though, like answering it-"

"What?" I said cutting off Annie.

"Was that your first kiss since Mina?" Annie asked.

"That bad huh?" I said.

"I didn't say that!?" Annie said.

"Well it kinda sounds like, thats what your saying" I said.

Annie had a look of embarrassment on her face.

"No! I didn't- I just wondered how much practice you've had" Annie said.

"You don't need practice" I argued.

"Everyone needs practice" Annie calmly said.

"It was not my first kiss since Mina... I'm 16 I'm not dead" I said.

Annie looked away and a smile crept up on her face when she turned back to me.

"Nobodys special than?" Annie asked.

I chuckled and looked back to see my little cutie sleeping on Petra's shoulder, drooling slightly.

"Believe it or not it's actually hard to find somebody with shared life experience" I said. I face forward and focused on riding. Mina was perfect but the person she is now isn't who she started off as, not that there's anything wrong with that we've all changed.

Annie was still keen on keeping this conversation going.

"Well that's alright... You just make something up" She said.

"What like you?" I asked.

Annie shrugged, her memory was hazy but her spying skills were still intact.

Annie's tone became a bit more softer, she was starting to ease up on us.

"I don't know... The truth is a matter of circumstances, it's not all things to all people, all the time, and neither am I" Annie said.

That made me feel bad. She's so lost in life and isn't sure what's real or not and I just wanted to help her.

"That's a tough way to live" I said.

"It's a good way not to die though..." She said.

"Y'know it's kinda hard to trust somebody when you don't know who that somebody really is" I said.

"Yeah... Who do you want me to be?" She asked.

I smiled.

"How about a friend" I said.

She smiled brightly and that warmed my heart. Annie seemed so much more relaxed with me around.
