Valerius POV
So...it's finally come to this. Me sitting here, across from the man who has given me so many problems from birth to now. I'm serious, this is the man who made my life a living hell. The man I can 'proudly' call 'father'. I've not contacted my parents since I left to find Isaiah and it had been a huge relief leaving home. This man is not a good man. He is cunning and clever, knowing how to manipulate to get what he wants. The best tactic that I could think of to combat this douche was to be firm in my stance.
"Hello, Valerius. I see that you look healthy at least. How is that boy you mates with...Isaac?"
"He doesn't concern you because you aren't going near him. Try to send anybody or show up in person and I'll rip your throat out. Am I understood?"
"Val-"
"NO!" People are now staring at our table. Good. Appearance is important to him, so the more people watching the less he would act out. Unfortunately, he's persistent this time.
"I'd like to talk about your inheritance? You seem to have been away for a long time, which means you have not been making your share of the work load."
"That is probably because I quit our company the day before I left."
"I beg your pardon!?!" He says with a spitter at the start. This makes me smirk. Got ya where I want ya.
"You heard me. I quit our family business to go be back to my mate. It wasn't even something that was on a whim. I've been aching to be released from under your thumb and what better way to go relatively unbothered than finding my fated mate." I watch as his fist starts to tighten and his vein pops out as his teeth clench behind his purses lips. Usually by then, I'd have new warrior markings to call my own that followed that look, but we are out in public, and I'm no defenseless boy anymore. Then his tune changes direction by 180 degrees.
"That's a pity because I'd swear you'd want to go with your mate for when we welcome him to our company." My sense of victory is shattered. My blood goes cold and my breath hitches. "Well, it seems that now I have your attention?" If looks could kill, I'd make sure to look himstraight in the eye and stay staring at him until the autopsy confirms his passing.
"You stay the hell away from him!!"
"Oh dear me son. You know from experience how hot is Valentines blood boils. You ought to control that temper of yours. After all, we are out in public." He says with a smirk. That bastard. I swear I'm gonna kill him one of these days. Then I will dance on his grave and post pictures on Instagram with the caption 'The happiest place on earth'.
"Oh well, it has been a delight, but I'm afraid I have other matters to attend to. Take care, son."
"You won't win. I will let him know about you. You won't make me come back to join you. Not now, not ever."
He turned around with a knowing smile. "I don't doubt that you'd drag on this tired little game you force me and your mother to play. But I'm sure Andy would love to talk with Isaiah about your Friday outings. Wouldn't he?"
My face pales. "You wouldn't." With a smile, he turns and leaves. No, this can't be happening. It was never supposed to happen like that. There was never supposed to be a night with anyone but me and my mate. Still, we had fell on hard times and had not recovered just yet, but it's only a phase. Nothing more. We were just so mad at each other. When he said he wanted to look for Eduardo, I snapped. Andy was a mistake. A drunken mistake that I can't even for the life of me remember. True, his face is clear due to the devastation I felt when I saw him the next morning, but I don't even remember going anywhere with the guy, or leaving the bar. The only reason I know we happened was because he sent me video of our time. If Nathanial found out.....No he isn't finding out. I swear he won't.
*Beeep*
Nathanial: What the hell?! You better have some sort of explanation when you get home.
I look at the link and it is the exact video of my worst mistake in my life. Crap.
