Sweet Sixteen Years Part 4 - Chapter Eleven

Spotting Joe, I started running towards him, making the loudest noice ever due to my cowboy boots, then calling his name. He turned around and smiled as I leaped into his arms. Wrapping his arms around me and mine around his neck, I lifted my legs and let him swing me around. "It's a done deal!" I squealed. "Tim and Faith canceled me! Something about Faith having surgery, and well, they were putting it off anyway, so... It kinda just fell into place."

"Tay, are you sure this is what you want?" He set me down, looking into my overly excited blues.

My massive grinn started to turn into a frown. "Yes... Your not backing out on me... Are you? Cause I went to a lot of trouble to do this. My mom isn't the happiest, but she's coming down and will make do!"

Joe chuckled, "no way am I ever going to back out on you!" He kissed my hand which was in his. "So your mom's coming down?" I nodded. "Well that's not intimidating at all! Is Abigail staying?"

I shook my head. "No, her flight is tonight, unfortunetly!" I saw him starting to tense up. "Are you seriously scared about meeting my mom?" Shyly, he nodded. "Don't be! My mom..." I paused and took a deep breath... "Put it this way, there is a lot worse!"

"So not helping." Joe mumbled, looking to the ground with his hands in his pockets.

This really boggled my mind, "how can you be nervous? You snuck into my room... Window style."

"That's different." He shrugged. "No one saw me, no one heard me."

"Its just my mom." I giggled. "She's gonna adore you, trust me! Just like I do!" I peeked around before quickly kissing him.

"What are you doing for lunch?" He asked. "Got any plans."

"Abi and I were just gonna go for lunch! But I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal if you joined us! In fact, I encourage it!"

"I'm not sure Abigail will like that..."

"What?" I laughed, "what do you mean by that?"

"She's not to fond of me... Of us together."

I rolled my eyes. "Doubt that. She wouldn't follow me to Brimingham if she didn't like us together. Trust me. Abs and I are best friends, and we always will be! So please trust me when I say she likes you."

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we started to walk to the back of the venue where the vehicles were. "Okay, but only for you!" Joe kissed the top of my head. "Remind me... When is your mom flying in?"

"Tomorrow morning."

"So does that mean..." He brought his voice to a whisper and stopped walking, making a finger action from him to I.

I turned to look Joe in the eyes. "Yes!" Laughing I kissed his cheek. "I get a room to myself, weather I'm inviting you or not is the question!" Joe kissed my forehead, then proceeded to walk with his arm back around me.

We picked Abi up at the hotel and she was shocked to see Joe in the car, she refused to say a whole lot to Joe for the entire time we were together. He tried to make conversation, but she just wasn't feeling it. Did my best friend have a problem with my boyfriend? That's like the worst of worst senario's... Like, Ever! But being the in between made me the conversation holder... Which isn't always the... Best... Decision one could make... I get off topic easily. When Joe took a 'bathroom break' It was time for answers. "What's with you?!" My voice was full of concern.

She played with the straw in her strawberry milkshake, but all she did was shrug. "Nothing."

"Ya right. Somethings up." I said rolling my eyes, and stealing her milkshake.
