So this is a fanfic idea I had, on which I wanted your opinion, because I don't know if I should keep writing it or not! This is just the prologue, but most of the story will take place a year after and won't be as "dark". You'll see in the prologue, but the rest of the story too that I'm trying to do an AU while adding the most details from httyd as possible! Also the prologue is long but the chapters will be shorter.

I would really love to have your feedback on this but mostly tell me if you'd like to read more of it!

Also the end sucks for now, because I'm tired, but I'll probably rewrite it if I decide to post the whole story!

Thank you and have fun reading x

She had only gone to that party for Heather's sake.  Heather had not expected to be kissed by her crush on that night, but her dream had come true, which is how Astrid ended up sitting in the corner of the room for a while, listening to music she hated, watching people drinking and noticing some guy dropping bear all over the carpet. She sighed and got up, found her way to the door, grabbed her coat and breathed the fresh air. She texted Heather that she had left and would be back at the dorm.

"Leaving already?" she heard from behind. It was Ruffnut, standing in the doorway.

"Yeah, I'm not feeling so great," she lied. She just didn't enjoy these parties and now that Heather was Thor knows where with her guy, she had no reason to stay.

"That's sad, cause that's one hell of a party!" her friend replied.

"Yeah..." she breathed. "See you later, Ruff!" Astrid said as she started crossing the street over and grabbed her headphones from her pocket.

The college was about fifteen minutes away from the house she just left. She walked, head hung low and hands in her pockets. The air wasn't too cold, but she should definitively have opted for pants instead of a skirt and tights. The streets were quiet and she was alone, but it felt way better than to be in that crowded house.

She turned left on a small street and noticed him locking the door of the repair shop he worked at. She barely knew him. They were both from the small town of Berk and came to study here because the college wasn't to far away and offered a variety of programs. He was a year older and had rarely talked to him. He was just Hiccup to her, the dork who always had either a book or a sketch book with him at all times.

He seemed to notice her and raised her hand as if he meant to say hello, but did not say a word, exactly as they always did when they crossed paths at school. His dorm was down the hall from hers and Heather's. She waved back, with a smile and kept walking. She could only think of her bed, popcorn and the movie she'd probably watch, curled up in her covers when she'd get back. Behind her, Hiccup pulled out of the driveway and passed her. She took her phone out of her pocket to change the song and scrolled through her playlist. She lifted up her gaze and watched in horror.

The crash echoed through the night. Astrid had almost dropped her phone. For a second, she was stunned.

Another car had been coming so fast in the other direction and skipped the red light, only to come crashing into Hiccup's car. Both cars were on opposite sides of the road; the other car had then crashed into a pole. It was dead silent once again, like nothing ever happened.

She breathed in, and out before dialling 911. Breathe, Astrid, she thought to herself. She started walking towards both cars.

911, what's your emergency? A female voice had answered.
