Beloved - Hiccstrid One Shots

4 : Late Night

[once again, this one takes place between the second and third movie]

Late Night

Astrid had been flying with Stormfly for most of the evening. That feeling when she was in the sky... she felt so free. It was hard to explain, but touching the clouds on Stormfly's back was just something else.

The whole day before had been quite intense. They had received the news of some sort of Dragon Hunter ship coming towards Berk, but it had turned out to be a false alarm. Still, Hiccup had asked for Snotlout and the twins to stand guard. With the rapidly growing number of dragons on their island, they needed to be vigilant one hundred percent of the time.

The sun had set while she was in the air. She had taken in all its magnificence and beauty while the wind tore through her hair. That ride with Stormfly clearly had been the highlight of her day. However, she started to feel exhausted and decided to head home.

Back on Berk, she was headed for her hut, but crossed Hiccup's along the way and knew he wouldn't mind if she came to stay the night.

Unfortunately no lights were lit in the hut and she did not hear a sound. Hiccup had probably been called in, again.

Astrid untied her braid and walked over to the table. She studied Hiccup's plan for what seemed to be another fin for Toothless but did not manage to understand it so much. She walked around and sighed, wishing Hiccup had been there.

She got upstairs to his room and sat on the bed. He probably won't be very long, she thought or well hoped.

"Night, bud," Hiccup said as he walked up the stairs of his hut. The moon had been high in the sky for a while now and he knew that his dragon was probably as tired as he was.

A small light had been lit in his room, which he doubted he had forgotten before leaving. He then noticed his girlfriend sprawled in the middle of the bed, hair all over her face. A smile could not help but appear on his face. He let his weapon on a shelf before walking over to the bed. He sat next to her and gently put his hand over her head, gently stroking her hair. She barely moved.

"Hey Astrid," he whispered softly. She looked so peaceful. "Babe..." he added.

"Mmpff..." a sort of grunt came from her mouth and she turned to her sidd and barely opened her eyes. "Hiccup?"

"I'm sorry I woke you up," he said. "I just need a little space if you want me to come into bed with you," he teased.  She extended her arm and grabbed his shirt, pulling him closer. He bent over and gently kissed her lips.

"I'm cold," she said when their lips parted, almost lying. She just wanted to be in his arms. Hiccup then bent down to remove his faks leg.

He slipped into the covers and she immediatly came close, putting her head on his chest and her arm around his waist. He kissed the top of her head and put his hand on her shoulder.

"I love you, Astrid," he whispered.

"Me too," she replied but he felt her falling asleep just after these words.

Hey this one is not much but it's cute! What do you guys think of my one shots so far?

Next chapter will probably be an AU. It's more like a prologue of something that could become a fanfic, so I'll need your opinions on it, to see if I keep writing it as a fanfic or not.
