Dragon First

It had felt like old times, when they had been living on Dragon's Edge, going on missions and discovering new dragons. The dragons riders had been out flying in the sun, on a mission. Unfortunately, a Scauldron had found itself close to Berk, leading most ships away. They were armed of a huge net, to relocate it. Hopefully it would go smoothly, as it usually did not go with this gang.

The twins had been blabbering nonesense for a while now, Snotlout replying from time to time while the other mostly ignored their comments.

"Keep it down," Hiccup said to the twins. "I think we're close. Let's get into formation,"

Fishlegs and Snotlout were holding the net, with the twins right behind them. Astrid signaled to Hiccup as both their dragons accelerated. They needed to attract the Scauldron's attention.

"Are you guys ready?" asked Astrid.

"Why does she get to call the shots?" Snotlout replied.

"It's what happens when you're dating the chief," she replied with a smirk.

"Okay guys, let's go! You go Toothless," said Hiccup. The Night Fury plunged into the water, followed by Astrid. They felt the moving waves coming from the immense dragon and lifted up in the air, as fast as they could, in direction of the other riders and the net.

Hiccup barely had time to notice his friends frightened faces or hear Astrid's warning, who managed to avoid the danger before he was knocked off Toothless. As he fell, a peice of his equipment got stuck in the fabric of Toothless' fake tail, which ripped in a matter of seconds. They had noticed that a second Scauldron had been close and attacked. Hiccup free falled and saw Toothless falling as well, in circles, trying his best to stay in the air without the help of his rider and his ripped tail.

"HICCUP!" Astrid had screamed so loudly as he fell into the water. A little further, the other riders had managed to trap one of the Scauldrons. The other one was coming way to fast in Hiccup and Toothless' direction. Without thinking, Astrid dived, to the last spot she had seen her boyfriend fall in the water. He resurfaced quickly and before Stormfly could grab him, he pointed to Toothless, who had just fallen in the water as well.

"ASTRID! GO GET TOOTHLESS!" he shouted. "PLEASE!"

"HICCUP I-" she replied, coming closer.

"YOU NEED TO GET TOOTHLESS"

Stormfly made an abrupt turn, in the Night Fury's direction. Astrid felt both rage and fear creeping into her, but her dragon caught Hiccup's and they flew to the pile of rocks near them, where she let Toothless. The Night Fury let out a cry as he touched land, since he had seen the Scauldron swimming right towards Hiccup. He was trying to swim away, but he could never make it out of this mess alone.

"Stormfly, go!" Astrid commanded and flew as fast as she had ever flown to Hiccup. The Scauldron was getting closer, but Hiccup still tried to get away. Suddenly, a purple blast hit the Scauldron's head, which gave Astrid time to reach Hiccup. Behind her she saw the twins coming in, with another net they had somehow thought to bring.

"Oh, thank Thor," Hiccup muttered as Stormfly picked him up. Astrid did not utter a word. She flew them to Toothless and Hiccup rushed to him, taking out a spare tail and attaching it to his dragon.

"Let's get out of here, bud," he said and followed Stormfly and Astrid to the nearest island, further away. Everything had gone quite fast but Hiccup felt something wrong with Astrid.

They landed on the island and saw the rest of the dragon riders leading the trapped Scauldrons away. Hiccup turned to his girlfriend, who was petting Stormfly.

"Astrid, I..." Hiccup started and she abruptly turned around as she heard his voice.

"You don't get to..." she walked closer to him. "You can't just do that! I mean, as much as I love Toothless, I love you more!" she hit him in the shoulder. Hiccup took it in, looking her in the eyes. "You can't scare me like that again!"

"I know..." he mumbled.

"You could have drowned, or been eaten by that Scauldron! You can't do that again! People depend on you," she kept on going. He reached for her hand slowly.  "I depend on you, I need you" she added, solftly.

"I know, Astrid. I need you too," he replied. He brushed away the strand of hair that had fallen in her face. "Besides, I knew you were going to save me," he teased and she punched him in the shoulder once more. "Okay, that one hurt," he added, to which she started laughing. It was like music to Hiccup's ears. He brought her closer, into a hug and whispered in her ear. "I'm sorry, Astrid,"

"You just can't scare me like thay again, okay?"

"Okay,"
