This is a rant. Not sorry.
I'm sick. I have to go to school because I really can't miss more than two days in a row without getting behind on work and I'm a lazy person so that missed work is not going to get made up. I guarantee that. I wear a medical mask to school because I FLIPPING CARE ABOUT PEOPLE!! As soon as I walk in a get bombarded with one question, "are you sick?" Like no bitch I'm just wearing this as a freaking fashion statement, YES I'M SICK DUMBASS!! The worst part is once I say I'm sick people instantely turn away with a fowl look plastered on their face like I've got breathe herpes. I'm a very understanding person and I realize that it's the week before prom and no one is trying to get sick and I also understand that some people have weak immune systems, but that gives no one the right to treat me or anyone like we are the devil incarnate. When you walk into a room and people literaly plaster themselves to the wall so that you don't infect them, that's a little (lot) too far. My coughs sound worse than I feel. Keep in mind that I'm wearing a mask all the time. I'm not going to purpousfully hack in your face, knowing that I'm sick. Turning back, after you considerately turned away to sneeze or cough, and seeing the person you were talking to either further than they were before or turning back to you with a grossed out or fearing expression, HURTS LIKE HELL. I have on a mask to create a burrier between me and everyone else. So when everyone avoids me like the plague, it makes me want to take off my mask and intentionally spit in their face. My friends have been extremely supportive. Now I don't give them hugs or share food, but they don't avoid me. We have our respective boundaries, but also a mutual understanding. That's how you become mature homosapiens. Be aware of other peoples feelings towards your actions and adjust as needed. Yes be yourself, but don't be an asshole. There will always be times when you have to reign yourself in a litte bit to acomodate to others. That's life. So find the people in your life that can love you for yourself so that you have people to go back to at the end of the day.
