I enjoyed taking and laughing with all my family over our meal. I had a salad, mixed fruits, a few lamb chops and carrot cake. We were teasing Peter about his new crush and talking about school. Laughing at my search for a man or shall I say boy.

I finished dinner and resumed my dancing. At least it was all people I knew this time. They were my friends from my old school or my parents old friends kids. Wow that's confusing.

I finally got through all of this and it was time for the family's royal dance. As everything seems to, it goes in order of procession. First mom and dad, second dad and I. Third, mom and Caleb, fourth, mom and Peter, fifth, mom and Cupid.

I watched my parents float around the dance floor to the soft music, all eyes on them. One mistake and everyone sees.

The song ends and dad bows and mom curtseys. I stand up and walk over to dad and put my hands on his shoulders. I was a mere 5'5 while my dad was 6'1.

We glided around the dance floor with adrenaline coursing through my veins. After what felt like years the song ended and I curtseyed. I walked back over to the thrones and sat in my throne.

Mom danced with the boys. And shortly after that, I had a little bit more champagne before I went and begun dancing with the Royals my age.

After dancing with random people or people from school I finally had someone I knew.

James.

James approached Mallory and took a bow, he swiftly picked up my hand and kissed it. I took his arm and we walked towards the dance floor.

I don't know if I was drunk or something but I had this weird feeling in my chest and stomach while we danced.

I had my arms wrapped around his neck with his hands on my waist. The song ended all to quickly for my liking.

He walked me back to Mallory then went and talked to my family for a while. He always has gotten along great with them. The boys love him and so do my parents.

"Oh James how have you been? We haven't seen you in so long, oh your getting so tall!" My mom gushed.

My dad shook his hand and nodded. Cupid ran up to him and started talking to him. Awww he got down on his knee to talk to him.

Wait what I mean sure James certainly isn't ugly, hell hes so handsome. But he's my best friend. I can't like my best friends no way no how that's absurd.

"Oh does someone have a crush!" Mallory whispered in my ear. "Omg Mallory no he's my best friend I don't like him!" I whisper yelled back.

"Just saying, friends don't look at each other the way you guys do" she said with a big smile plastered on her face. "Oh please everyone keeps telling me that and it's definitely not true" I said matter of factly.

That was the biggest lie I've ever told. She's right best friends don't imagine marrying, having kids and ruling a kingdom with their friend. Only with their boyfriend or crush.

Shit.
