Chapter 14

"Ummm about the boyfriend thing. I knowthisisntthebestwaytoaskyouoranythingbut " he paused to take a deep breathe.

"James. Say that again please it was a little to quick" I said laughing.

"Umm this isn't the best way to ask or even close to what I had planned but uh will you go out with me Quinn?"

I gasped and nodded, slightly unsure of what was happening. At some point we'd switched places and I was sitting on my bed and he was standing.

He jumped on top of me and gave me a huge hug and I squealed from shock.

"Okay okay James I have to start working!" I said.

"Oh wait I have the bracelet" he reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a gorgeous gold bracelet with a small gold heart on it.

"Awww James it's gorgeous, I love it!" I squeal.

James placed it on my wrist and fiddled with the clasp. He finally snapped it into place with a self satisfied look on his face.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that" he says, his smile growing .

"So since you can't leave the castle where are you going to stay?" I question.

"Well hopefully the same place I always stay when I'm here. Hopefully getting to call you my girlfriend doesn't change that" he responds with a smirk.

"Hmmmmm well I suppose but don't try anything" I deadpan with sarcasm.

And a second later.

We both burst out laughing.

We finally calm down and start joking around and talking when there's a faint knock at the door.

I get up and walk over to the door. I know it's not Mallory cause she just knocks and comes in. Hmm.

I open the door to Cupid standing there with his little brown stuffed dog.

"Hey buddy what's up?" I cheerfully ask and kneel down.

"I-is you gonna have a James be yer hubsband? Hes weally nice and I want more friends." He stutters through with his messed up speech. Awww

Wait.

Did my 3 year old brother seriously just ask if I'm gonna have kids with and marry James.

Oh My god.

I hear I quiet chuckle from my bed. Ugh of course he heard that.

I could literally feel my face flush and a bright blush spread to my cheeks.

"Uh um n-no Cupid. I mean maybe but definitely not yet. But in the whole topic no." I rush out pausing and stuttering as I go.

I hear James laughing in the background. Somehow Cupid didn't notice. Hmm.

"Up pwease." Cupid asks.

"Okay good job using your manners" I praise and pick him up.

I kid you not I take 2 steps and a strangled noise comes from Cupid.

My heart stoped before returning to normal after an ear piercing "JAAAAAMES!!!! DOWN DOWN DOWN" from Cupid.

I accept my orders and place him down before he runs over to James who is now crouched down waiting for his hug.

I watch Cupid's tiny arms wrap around him and James hugs him back before tickling his stomach.

I watch as the adorable scene unfolds in front of me as my heart melts.
