Chapter 1- Outskirts

In France, in the town of Notre Dame, a castle stood tall. The palace looked so elegant and sparkling. This was during the times where people lived in fantasy, fairytale and gowns. However, the aesthetics to this era surrounded in paupers, businesses going out and struggles. There was once a princess who lived inside the castle. Her hair was a long brunette that goes on her hips, eyes matching the color of her hair. She grew up there and rarely came out the castle. This princess never really knew how it is outside the castle. Although, she heard about how some parts of town have been down. She just never knew how it really is outside. This princess is named Rianne Antonette Ansley. Rianne is expected to take the crown the following year, she is now seventeen, almost eighteen. When she turns eighteen, she was planned to be crowned as the new queen, planned by her mother, herself. Despite of having everything she wanted, she felt like she longed for adventure outside the castle and see the outside, the town around her.
She sometimes asked her mother  if it is possible for her go see town. The queen shrugged it off, saying that she was not old enough. However, the queen promised that she would be able to at one point when she is seventeen. In a bright sunny morning, the princess went into her balcony, sighing, resting her elbow on the railings of the balcony, looking outside. Her gown shone like tiny diamonds that sparkled in the daylight.
"I want to go see the town but mother always tell me it isn't time yet," Rianne whined.
"I just wished I could see the town up close.. it looks beautiful up in here by my room.." Rianne sighed.
A sudden knock. Rianne jolted back from the knock, startling her.
"Your highness, the queen wishes to see you," a female voice muffled through the locked door.
"Oh, thank you.." Rianne answered.
She walked in front her glittering mirror, coated with pure gold. She looked at herself, making sure she looked presentable then headed to the throne room to meet her mother. As soon as she went there, she bowed with curtsy to her own mother.
"Now now, child, I know you wished for so long to go to town.. now is your chance.." The queen spoke.
Rianne's face lit up with happiness from the sudden proclamation.
"Oh, thank you mother!" Rianne ran to hug her mother.
"However, you would need to be escorted by the butler."
"Oh, that's fine by me! I just want to see the town! Oh, I really wished to see the town! I wanted to for so long! Oh, splendid!" Rianne span from joy.
Her mother cleared her throat. Rianne stopped.
"I thought it is fair for you to see it now since you are to take the throne the following year.." Her mother smiled but hid the sad smile beneath it.
Rianne immediately ran to her room to change, getting ready. However in the throne room, a maid talked to the queen.
"Are you sure about this.. your highness? Queen Elizabeth?" The maid spoke.
".. since, she's taking over the throne.. the town is a heavy responsibility.. she needs to learn and know..I want her to be prepared for it..." the queen smiled tiredly.
The maid bowed before being dismissed. The queen sat in the throne chair, covering her face with her palm. Rianne dressed with a soft lavender colored gown, corseted on her back by a maid. She put her hair in a simple down with a silver rose hair clip on the back of her head. She made her way to the front door of the castle. The guards opened up the huge metal door. There, her butler stood outside, escorting her in the carriage, going to town.
