"I need everyone to sit down, if you will," Blue's mom said to us.
The furniture in the room was all mismatched and colorful. I decided to sit in an armchair that had patches hand-sewn into it. Everyone sat down in different ones.
Only Ronan and Calla remained standing, and they regarded each other warily.
Blue came to sit down on the arm of my chair and whispered to me, "Maura. My mom's name is Maura."
I nodded to her, as if saying thanks for that mostly useless information!
"It's too dang loud in here," Maura said suddenly. She looked over to me and squinted. "And you're the loudest out of all of them."
My eyes widened and I heard Ronan snicker.
"Hey," he said, "that's my job."
Gansey sighed and pressed Maura on to start.
"Do I need to leave?" Blue asked her mom.
Gansey seemed confused and asked her, "Why would you need to leave?"
"She makes things louder for us," Maura said. She was frowning over all of them as if she was trying to make sense of it. "And in all honesty, I need (Y/N) to leave. I can do her reading separately."
I was confused, but I still got up and went into the hallway, sitting against the wall. The door was still open, though, so I could still hear what was going on inside.
"That's a bit better," Maura said, "but you three are very loud, too."
"What do you mean, very loud?" Gansey asked.
I heard shuffling in the room. It was probably Maura looking through her desk.
"I mean that there is something about your energies that is very..." Maura didn't finish her sentence. "(Y/N)'s is even louder than..."
"Should I be concerned? She's my sister," I heard Gansey ask, but he didn't sound that worried.
"No, no, you shouldn't be worried about it. That's our job."
Who was my energy louder than? And why was my energy so... what? She didn't finish her sentence!
I heard that they decided to do "one offs", where each of the boys draw a card from the deck. Sounded weird... I like it.
"Wait, have Blue deal it." Maura said.
It was about five minutes of silence before I heard an infamiliar voice say, "Beg your pardon?"
It sounded closer than the others, so it must have been the dark skinned woman.
I heard Ronan's voice next, "Everything you've told him could apply to anybody. Anybody with a pulse has doubts. Anybody alive has argued with their brother or their father. Tell me something no one else can tell me. Don't toss a playing card at me and spoon feed me some Jungian bologna. Tell me something specific."
I heard Maura sigh. "We don't do specif—"
The dark skinned woman's voice interjected, "A secret killed your father and you know what it is."
My felt my skin grow white. Only Ronan Lynch knee what killed his father, and he wasn't going to tell anybody. How did that woman know what he knew?
"Calla." sneered Maura. My hand was shaking. Who knew what Ronan would do in a few seconds.
"What are you?" 'Calla' asked.
There was silence.
"Ronan?"
"I'm waiting in the car."
Ronan went out the door. Before he left, he gave me a glance. His eyes held nothing.
I stood up and went inside the reading room. I turned to Calla.
"How dare you! His father is dead!" I said accusingly.
"I know," Calla said. Her eyes were slits.
"No, you really don't. That's such a heavy thing to just say out of the blue like that! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find my best friend."
I stomp out of the room, leaving everyone with wide eyes.

Ronan sat in the passenger seat of the Pig, his head against the window. His head had only one thought in it: I know the secret, I know the secret, I know the secret.
Maybe the secret was best kept it. No. The secret had to be kept. No one was going to find out. Nobody. Not even her.
I gentle tapping on the window startled Ronan, making him hit his head on the car roof. He swore and held his head.
After he regained his stature, he rolled down the window to yell at whoever it was. Except he wasn't. Because it was (Y/N).
"Oh my word, Ronan! I am so sorry! Are you okay? Did you hit your head hard?" (Y/N) said with a worried face.
Ronan's wariness almost completely melted when he heard her voice. An idea came to Ronan's mind making him do his infamous Lynch smirk. "Can I get a kiss to make it feel better?"
(Y/N)'s face turned redder than a cherry in the spring. Ronan laughed, making her turn more red. "Ronan Niall Lynch! That is not funny!"
This made Ronan laugh harder. (Y/N) shoves his head through the open window, making an annoyed face.
"Aw, come on." Ronan put his elbow on the bottom of the open window, putting his chin in his hands. "You know you love it."
(Y/N) crossed her arms. "Well, I'm not the one who suggested it in the first place, was I, Mr. Lynch?"
"Nope. And I can make due with that."
"I'm leaving."
"Ha, no you're not. You came out here to check on me, didn't you?"
"I did, yes. You seem perfectly fine, however. Good day."
Ronan opened the car door and stepped out. (Y/N)'s face seemed a bit alarmed by the sudden action. Ronan held out his arms, making his body resemble a cross. "Can I have a hug?"
(Y/N) seemed confused, then happy. She wrapped her arms around Ronan's middle, and Ronan put his arms around her shoulder. He rocked her back and fourth, left to right.
"Are you alright?" (Y/N) asked.
"...No."
