"Now, (Y/N)." Maura said as she shuffled the tarot cards skillfully on the table. "I predict that you'll be a more... difficult reading, to say the least."
I sat back in my chair, which was placed in the middle of the room for my convenience. Blue was sitting with her mom behind the desk.
"Well," I said, "you would think mine would be the easiest, being that I'm the smallest."
We shared a laugh, but it somehow got more serious in the room. Maura had closed her eyes tightly and rubbed her temples. "Goodness, I'm sorry, your energy is very, very loud."
I clicked my nails on the arm of my chair, nervous. Why was I so special? How?
"Okay, we'll get started now."
I leaned back in my chair. "Will Blue be doing my, uh, thingy?" I asked.
"No," replied Maura, "I will. You don't have much significance to Blue. I do, however, sense a strong relationship with someone in your little group."
I felt myself blush. Blue smirked in the corner of my eye. Maura just smiled to herself.
She stepped around the desk to in front of me. She held the deck out to me. "Pick the one that speaks most to you." She directed.
I skimmed my hand over the line of cards all a bit warm under my fingertips. When I went over one, however, I felt a spark. I pulled my hand away very suddenly, letting out a little yelp. Maura and Blue's eyes widened, and Blue said, "Are... Are you okay, (Y/N)?"
I nodded. "Y-Yeah, just felt little zap, that's all."
Pulling the card from the deck, I tried to calm my heart. That was very unexpected.
I handed Maura the card, and she read it aloud.
"The High Priestess. Pure, wisdom. It's a very unique card."
     "Really?"
"Yes. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but your little friend who you stood up with doesn't seem like the type to wait for long."
I laughed and agreed. And with that, I headed back downstairs.
