     Long one for ya 😉

The back of police cars are surprisingly comfortable. And the flashing of the lights against the pitch black sky is so cool! Why am I acting like everything is okay again? We're literally being driven back home after spending the whole day at the police station...
     "Dad, change the station, please."
Ivy sat beside me, looking bored. Noah sat on my other side, looking more pale than usual. I nudge his shoulder with mine as Ivy's dad rejects her offer.
Noah turns to me, a bit wide eyed. "Hey, are you okay?" I ask. Noah doesn't give me an immediate reply, but his eyes answer all my my questions.
     "I'm scared, (Y/N)."
     "Gansey will be mad."
     "Ronan will be madder."
"Adam won't care. Probably. Still scared."
I half felt bad for him and the other half was laughing my butt off. On the inside, of course. I was scared, too. This was the first "illegal" thing I've ever done. I'm know Gansey will be really mad at me, but I don't know about Ronan. He always does illegal stuff, so he might be proud of me. Probably not.
"Alright, kids," Ivy's dad says, "who was the mastermind behind all of this?"
Both Noah and I pointed at Ivy at the same time. She held an offended look. "Traitors," she scoffed.
Ivy's dad sighed and pulled into the parking at Monmouth. He turned around in his seat and gave us a stern look. "Listen, (Y/N), I've known you for a while. I know you wouldn't do anything bad, unless you were forced to." He gave a pointed look to Ivy.
"I won't tell your parents about any of this," he continued, "but, in my opinion, my daughter should be spending less time with you. Not because of you being an influence, but her on you. I don't know about your friend here," he pointed at Noah, "but he doesn't look like the type to this. Now, get out of my cop car. Your brother is probably waiting for you."
Noah opens the door and we both climb out. I wave goodbye to Ivy, but she didn't notice. She had her arms crossed and was staring out the window.
I frowned a bit, but followed Noah back into our home.
Welcoming us home was the delightful yell of my dear brother Richard.
"(Y/N) MICHELLE GANSEY THE SECOND, HOW DARE YOU BREAK THE LAW?!"
I rolled my eyes, not wanting to fight. Again.
"Gansey, I think we all need to-"
"DO YOU KNOW TIME IT IS?! MIDNIGHT! I GOT A CALL AT FIVE THAT YOU WERE FILLING OUT PAPERWORK FOR YOUR CRIME!"
"Ivy's dad took Noah and I to dinner afterwards! That's why we're late!"
Gansey let out an angry breath. "(Y/N), I know you think that since you don't have a reputation to keep up that you can just dilly dally all you want, but your actions also affect mine. I don't want you hanging out with Ivy anymore."
"What?! Gansey, you just can't tell me who I can't hangout with!"
"Oh really? Well, look what I'm doing. After your classes get out, you're to wait for Ronan to pick you up, and if he tells me you're talking to Ivy, I am telling Mom what you did."
I slam my foot on the ground. "Oh, please. Don't act like Dad cares what I do. You're his favorite! I know it, you know, Helen knows it. Everyone knows it! And Noah was a part of this just as I was! Punish him, too!"
"I'll deal with Noah later, but right now, this is between us. You need to start respecting me and my rules. You never even help us with our search anymore!"
"Well, I'm sorry, Richard, but I'm busy being a normal teenager. You and your weird little king hunting group are not my top priority! Get that through your thick skull!"
I shove past him and head for my room.
"Where do you think you're going?"
     "Somewhere you aren't."
I slam the door to my room and topple on my bed. Ronan's hoodie laid on it, so I went ahead and put it on. Warm...
After about ten minutes I hear a knock on my door. "It's unlocked. Unless it's Gansey. Then it's locked."
The door opens and whoever it was snickers. "Didn't know you had it in you, Gansey."
I look up from my position in my pillow to see Ronan with a Caprisun. "Thought you could use a drink."
He sat on my bed and handed it to me. I quietly thanked him, stuck the straw in it, and sipped on it. It was quiet for a few seconds, before he asked, "Do you want to talk about it?"
     I shook my head.
     "Do you want a hug?"
     ...
     I nodded.
Ronan enveloped me in a warm embrace which I gladly returned. I put my face in the crook of his neck, while he rubbed my back.
"Don't worry," he said into my hair, "I won't tell Gansey if you talk to Ivy after school."
     "Thank you."
