' Some angels are destined to fall '

______________________________________

I slowly opened my eyes to see nothing but the darkness that usually filled my room. I sit up against the headboard as I rub my hands over my face before I sighed and lit the lantern complete forgetting about Gregory. Once the room is lit up I find it empty making it seem like it was just a dream about the vampire boy, I sighed at the thought of it.

But I quickly push it to the back of my mind and began my weekend chores. I dust my room after I make a fire in the fire place that I rarely use, grabbing dirty clothes and dishes. I take them to the waterhole and filled the bucket with water, I started with the clothes first before I did the dishes. After that I want out the back door of the catacombs and dumpped the dirty water on the ground before walking back in.

I sit on the bed after I did the chores and took a bath afterwards. I grabbed a book that I've been wanting to finish for a while now and let the light of the fire shine onto the pages as I read.

THUMP

Thump

Thump

Thump

Thump

I immediately stop reading my book as thumps echo throughout the catacombs. I put the book aside and throw the covers off as I hear voices that sounds like it's coming from the main room. Before I could do anything my door opened to revel Gregory, when he saw me I can see relife in his eyes but he keeped his face emotionless.

"Gregory? I thought....I thought you left."

I said in surprise that it wasn't all a dream, he walked in and covered his eyes from the fire.

"Oh."

I grab the bowl of water and put out the fire with it making the room go dark. Gregory watch as I do so until I turn back towards him.

"What?"

I aske wonding why he's looking at me like I have risen from my death bed.

"Do you know how long you've been asleep."

I just shook my head, emotions flows through his eyes as he speaks.

"You've got sick after you come in after the rain, I didn't know what to do and I hope it would go away after a day or so but it didn't. You got worse by the day, forcing me to look for my family for help."

I open and close my mouth a couple of times I don't know what to say, I slowly sit on the edge of the bed as he continues to talk.

"Mother has been the one to keep you from getting worse."

I look at him as he stands there looking over me.

"How did you find them."

Gregory glance at the door that's  cracked open so he walked over and shut it completely.

"It has taken me a night or two but I was afraid to leave thinking that if I left you to long that you'll been dead by the time I got back."

Suddenly the mask he keeps on, falls. He's ture emotions show on his face, worry, sadness, panic as he thinks back to seeing me so sick.

"I didn't want to loss my friend."

He said as sadness fills his voice making me stand and walk over to him. I wrap my arms around his shoulders as he became tense when I did but slowly ease into it and wrap his arms around my waist.

"I'm not going anywhere, Gregory. "

I felt a shiver run down his back when I wishpered into his ear.
