Yeah you guys may disagree a bit on this ship and my opinion on it.
I like this ship and it's a good one. Pearl and Greg may have never gotten along often before Mr. Greg.
Also, watch and listen to this:
They gotten along better after this. And in Change Your Mind during the We Are The Crystal Gems song right after everyone came back to earth, Pearl and Greg talking to each other, Pearl laughing. Here's proof:

They're friendship has totally truly grown since the beginning. Pearl being jealous and being her normal salty self. Then as Steven got older, she seemed to be more and more aquatinted to him, but things were still awkward I'm sure. Plus, Greg trusted the three Crystal Gems to watch and protect Steven when he lived with him throughout the years.
Pearl has become one of Steven's mother figures in his life. I bet Steven is proud to have the gems right by his side.
Overall, to me, Pearl and Greg would make a great couple.
