As I walk into my chemistry class the next morning my teacher writes something on the board reading Science Experiment. Everyone groans at the sight of the board as they walk to their seats.

"Hey don't be to excited" Mr.Cavenaugh jokes,  "this year you all get to have partners" all the students  cheer in excitement. Me on the other hand..not to happy. I looked around the room, none of my friends were in this class..great. "Okay now let me pair you guys up" Mr. C say. "Anna with Taylor, Mark with Joanne, Bri with Cole, Alison with Matt" my blood runs cold as I hear the sweet name of Cole Pendery paired with ME. I turn around to see him grinning at me. I shyly smile back before quickly turning around as my cheeks flush.

"So what kind of chemistry experiment should we do?" Cole asks taking the seat next to me. I frown, "I'm not sure" I say trying my best to keep my cool as my mind races with flashes of our awkward meet at the mall.  "So you guys should start working on these as soon as possible, exchange numbers, instagrams, facebooks, whatever you guys do" Mr. C chuckles as we all begin to work with our partners. "What's your number?" Cole asked causally. Holy shit. I scramble to grab a piece of paper out of my bag writing my number down with a shaky hand. The bell rings seconds later as my hand grazes over his, his fingers wrapping around the small paper and shoving it into his pocket.

"I'll text you later!" Cole calls through the crowded hallways. Walking down the hall I goofy grin plasters onto my face, Coles words on repeat in my head. I'll call you later, Cole is going to text ME later. I rush through the whole day every period closer and closer to when Cole will text me. When I finally get home I rush straight to my room not even bothering to say hello to the oh so lovely step monster. My step mom who is a very poor excuse for a mother so I prefer step monster. As I flop onto my bed the ping of my phone makes me jump. Squealing like a little girl I open the phone to see the text.

Cole: Heyy it's Cole. Sorry I didn't text you sooner. When can we meet up to do the experiment?

Me: whenever

Cole: how about now?

Me: sure

I jump around my room in excitement but also a hint of nervousness. What am I going to wear? How am I going to act? I scramble to my closet to put on a pair of black leggings, it was kind of cold outside so I put on a slight big sweatshirt. I put my laptop into a small backpack head downstairs.

"Where are you going?" The step monster asks as I'm about to walk out the door. I sigh turning on my heels "I have to do a chemistry project so I'm going to my friends house." I say. She purses her lips and folds her arms across her chest, "sorry you can't go out tonight" I can almost hear the evil laugh in the back of her mind. "Why not?" I furrow my eyebrows. How is she not going to let me do a project?  "I don't want you to" she replies with a simple shrug. What the fuck. Was that really her reason? She just doesn't want me to. "I have to do a project" I say walking to the door. Suddenly she grabs my arm and pulls me back causing me to stumble to the ground. I grab my leg in pain looking up at her in exasperation. "Go to your room." She yells. I stand quietly and run to my room anger boiling inside me. I just want my father to come home. I can't take this anymore. I throw a bunch of pillows under the sheets on my bed to try to form a person like they do in all movies. Then I slowly open my window and climb onto my balcony. Now I have to figure out how to get down from here. I look around and noticed a tree branch close enough for me to reach. Once I am safely onto the ground I check my phone. Cole texted me his address and luckily it isn't far of a walk.

As I walk up the road towards his house I have to do a double take. His house was enormous, a cobblestone driveway leading up to marble steps and a two doors twice the size of me. The door swung open revealing Coles gorgeous face. We walked through the doors and down the hall that was covered with expensive art pieces and photographs. Cole stops at a beautifully designed door pushing it open to reveal a very large room covered in bookshelves. My eyes widened as we walk through the room towards a back table hidden behind the many bookshelves.

'Is this like your own personal library?" I gape looking around at the thousands of books neatly organized in the shelves. Cole chuckles, "Yeah we have a librarian to she comes 12-4 you just missed her" I punch him playfully shaking my head. "Anyways I have an idea for our project" I say sitting down at the table and pulling my laptop from my bag. I begin to explain my idea showing him pictures I found on the internet my eyes glowing as I watch the insane experiment be preformed by others. I continue to go on and on until I notice a smirk across Coles face. I frown tilting my head, "what?"

He chuckles leaning his head in his heads, "nothing continue"

"So anyways what I was saying-"

"Your different" Cole blurts out cutting me off.

"Your not like other girls"

"Um..I-"

"I mean you don't wear makeup, you don't wear fancy clothes, your not worried about what everyone thinks" he continues. I was utterly speechless at this random outburst. "Is that a bad thing?" I ask playing awkwardly with my fingers. "No no, I like that....a lot" he chuckles . A huge smile creeping up on my face my cheeks burning red. "You should smile more often Bri, it fits you" Cole smirks. For a minute their was silence, but it wasn't awkward silence it was a comfortable pleasing silence.

"Cole!" someone calls knocking on the door. Cole jumps his eyes widening as he grabs my hand and crouches down below a shelf.  "Stay here" he whispers. "Yeah mom?" He says in a low voice as he reaches the door. I sit on the floor leaning against the bookshelf a smile still plastered on my lips. Cole Pendery actually likes me? I never thought that a girl like me who is never noticed in school would be able to even talk to someone like Cole. I press my hand against my chest feeling my heart racing incredibly fast. Suddenly I hear the door shut and Coles feet padding back towards me. "I'm guessing I'm not supposed to be here" I whisper giggling. "Not really" Cole chuckles. I shrug leaning my back against the book case, "its okay I wasn't really allowed out"

"Wow Briella Rose sneaking out to do a science project how risky" he smirks playfully. I throw my head back in laughter covering my face with my sweatshirt sleeves in embarrassment. I feel Coles hands wrapping around my arms as he slowly removes them from my face. I stare into his brown eyes the pounding of my heart the only thing I hear in the silent room. His eyes flitter to my lips as I pull it between my teeth nervously. I feel the distance closing between us, Cole searching my face for a sign to stop. My heart pounds against my chest with nervousness and excitement as his lips gently press against mine. Volts of electricity shoot through my body with the one single touch of his lips, a undeniably amazing feeling I've never felt before.

Later when I walk back to my house under the light of the street lamps and stars I can't help but let out a deep sigh I'd been holding in since the moment I walked into Coles house. I giggle uncontrollably, I'm so high on the feeling of Coles lips that I don't even care that I might be grounded for life when I get home. All I can think about is the seconds before we kissed that feeling of nervousness and excitement building up in my stomach.
