Chapter 12

"Honey we are home!" Coles parents yelled.

Cole looked at me nervously and led me up the stairs.

I squeezed his hand tight, I was so worried about what his parents would think about me.

"Mom, Dad I would like you to meet somebody" Cole called with confidence.

His parents walked into his room, Cole put his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to him.

"Mom-"

"Is this your girlfriend?!" Coles mother squealed pulling me into a tight hug.

"Um..yeah I was just about to-"

"Cole she is so beautiful!" His mother screeched cutting him off..again.

"I know" Cole mumbled.

"I'm Bri" I blushed.

"Alright leave the poor girl alone" Coles dad said shaking me hand.

"Come have dinner with us we just brought home take out I hope you like Chinese food" his mom rushed us both down the stairs and sat us at the table counter.

Cole gave me an apologetic look and I laughed.

I looked around the house, last year I would have never expected to be here it's crazy how things change so fast.

We all ate together and talked, her parents asked me thousands of questions about myself and my family.

"Bri I am so glad Cole found you! Why don't you come with us to our lake house this weekend?" Her mother beamed.

Cole glanced at me. "Mom I don't think-"

"Sure!" I said cutting him off. I bit my lip to try not to laugh. I could tell Cole didn't want to go to the lake house by the expression on his face.

"Thank you so much for dinner it was really great to meet you" I said before hugging Coles parents goodbye.

Cole led me to his car and drove me home.

"You sure you want to go to the lake house?" He said grabbing my waste as we walked up the steps onto my deck.

"Yessssss" I said kissing Cole on the cheek.

I kept my face close to his so our noses were touching. I stared into his deep blue eyes and I felt safe.

A smile crept onto both our faces.

"I love you Cole" I said walking to my door.

Cole grabbed my hand and spun me around to face him leaning down to kiss me slowly.

"I love you to" he said as our lips parted.

I watched Cole walk down my steps and into his car. I decided not to go inside yet, instead I sat on my porch swing and starred up at the stars as memories of the night Cole told me he loved me for the first time.

When I walked into my house my air felt different. I looked around..something was missing.

"I'm home!" I yelled up the stairs.

...no response.

I walked slowly up the stairs and into my dads room. Nobody was their.

"Yooooo anyone home!" I yelled.

"I just made out with a boy on the porch!" I yelled even louder laughing.

..maybe nobody was actually home.

I've been home alone many many times but for some reason this felt different. I checked my step monsters drawers..everything was gone.

My heart raced I ran to my dads closet. Relief ran through my body, his stuff was still hear.

"Whatever" I said to myself walking into my room and plopping on the bed.

The next morning I woke up..nobody was home still. What the fuck? I got ready for school and walked downstairs to get breakfast. Nothing was in the refrigerator or freezer.

"This bitch leaves and takes everything in our house with her?"

A car beeped right outside my house.

Shit! I grabbed my stuff and hopped into the car.

"Ready for school?" Aria laughed as we drove off.
