"So, shall we begin?" The mediator and both parties nodded.
"Ok then, Mrs. Manoban would you like to go first?" Lisa and Chaeyoung looked at each other and Lisa spoke up. "Which one?" The mediator realized his mistake but before he could correct it Chaeyoung stopped him.
"I will be going by Park from now on and Mrs. Manoban can begin with her requests." Lisa was quiet for a moment because she was coming to terms with the fact that Chaeyoung will no longer have her name.
"Ok Mrs. Manoban, what are your requests?" Lisa took a deep breath. "All I want is joint custody of Leo and the baby, also I would like to be there for all of the doctors appointments because even though we aren't going to be together that is still my baby." Chaeyoung rolled her eyes. "You can have the house, the cars, except my BMW, and access to the jet and helicopter." Lisa stopped and thought for a second. "Oh! I am still taking Leo to Thailand for a two weeks in the summer."
"Is that all Mrs. Manoban?" The mediator asked and Lisa nodded. "Mrs. Park do you have anything you want to add?" Chaeyoung nodded.
"I don't think I want you anywhere near me while I'm pregnant and how will the this custody work, because I assume you aren't going to be staying in Seoul." Chaeyoung said coldly. Lisa smirked and shook her head.
"Look Chaeyoung that is my baby in there and you wouldn't have it if it wasn't for me, so I am going to be there for everything and for Leo because neither of them will grow up with out a father." Lisa said sternly. "And yes I am moving out of Seoul and to Busan, but that is one hour and a half helicopter ride away. If you are worried about the days and the time of them being with me then I could personally pick them up." Chaeyoung had never been a violent person, but she was ready to jump across the table and tackle Lisa.
"You can't be serious. First you cheat on me with our babysitter, then you get me pregnant and ask for a divorce?" It was as if steam was coming off of Chaeng. "I don't care if you move to Busan or two houses away I do not want you near me or this baby." Chaeyoung finished scowling at Lisa.
Lisa was about to say something back but the mediator spoke before things could get out of hand. "Ok so here is what's going to happen." He paused. "Starting next week Mrs. Manoban will be getting her son every Friday and dropping him off at school Monday morning until she moves. After that she will be getting him Friday afternoon to Sunday night then flying him back here to Seoul." He paused again.
"I will be allowing Mrs. Manoban to attend two of the doctor's appointments and be there for the birth of course." He turned to look at Chaeyoung. "Now, Mrs.Park, you will be allowed to keep your unborn child away from Mrs.Manoban for the first year after giving birth, but there will be supervised visits until then. When the child turns two, if this custody agreement is still going on, Mrs.Manoban will be allowed to take the child along with your son, for the same amount of time."
He stood from his chair. "Now if there are no more question I consider this mediation over." Lisa and Chaeyoung both nodded. Lisa stood and shook his hand and thank her lawyer, then left without saying anything to Chaeyoung.
Lisa was about to open her car door when a hand grabbed her wrist and turn her around. "You just have to get everything you want don't you?" Chaeyoung was standing in front of her almost crying. Lisa got her wrist out of Chaeng's grip. "What are you talking about Chaeyoung?"
Chaeyoung pushed Lisa into her car. "Jesus Christ Chaeyoung when did you get so violent!?" Lisa chuckled a little. "This is not funny Lisa! You cheat on me, then divorce me and ask for custody. And they give it to you with no problem!"
Lisa took a breath. "Chaeng, I'm sorry for everything. I will always love you, but I feel like we just had problem after problem the last two years and I just fell out of love with you. I love her Chaeng I really do and I love my son and whatever it is you are caring in there."
Lisa took a step closer to Chaeyoung and lifted her chin up so they were looking in each other's eyes. "I have to go now, I truly am sorry Chaengie. Please text me when your first visit with the doctor is." She kissed her cheek then got in her car and drove away leaving Chaeyoung with tears in her eyes.
