"We're here." I heard my brother say as I was slowly awaking from my sleep. "Hey, get up." He pushes me from side to side which pisses me off. The strong hatred I have when people do that in general makes me...violent. I take my small fist and hit him in his arm. Out of me and my brother, I'm the one who has a constant attitude when waking up.  "I'm not much of a morning person, I guess. Actually no, for a fact. I'm not.

"Hey, I'm going to need you to get up. We have to get the stuff out of the trunk. Now get your sleepy ass up and help me." I groan, and slowly opened the door, and mumble, "I swear you get on my nerves sometimes."

I could feel him turn towards me. "What was that? I didn't quite hear you, you might wanna open your mouth some more." He said. I didn't say anything after that. I don't have the time or energy to argue with him right now.

We grabbed our stuff and walked to the big building that was the administrators office. The campus was filled with all these students. It was amazing. "Starting to smell like home." I said. He scoffs. "You need to go back to sleep and wake up again because, home is something this place will never be." BJ said. "Don't make this a bad experience for me because of your negative attitude ." I say, opening the door to the administrators office.

BJ and I had separate dorms. His dorm hall wasn't far from mine. I'd say it was about a ten-minute walk going to his. "Let's meet up later Alright? I wanna check out my roommate, and my dorm." He told me. This was my first day but, I was still kind of nervous. "Wait...can you come with me first before you go to yours?" I asked him, sounding like a scared little girl.

He smacked his teeth. "Leah, I don't have time for this." He says holding the bags. I rolled my eyes. He always does this to me but if he wanted me to come with him, I would've.

Stupid bitch.

At this point, I had no other choice. "Please! Please! Please! Please!" I said holding my hands together, actually pleading. "Alright alright." He said officially tired of my nonsense. My dorm was room D45. BJ's was A12 all the way in front of the campus. On our way to the dorm, we see groups of guys and girls together. Touching all over each other, laughing and talking extremely loud. We finally get to my dorm, and there is a girl decorating the side of her room. Her black curly hair, really defined and in a messy bun, catches my attention due to my obsession with hair in general.

"Hey." I said. She turned around and her face instantly lit up. "Oh my gosh the new roomie has finally arrived! I'm Mari." She says jumping off the bed. I felt like I was about to choke on every word I spit out.

"I'm Leah. This is my brother..Brandon--BJ. for short." My anxiety was on the rise. He waves at her but doesn't say much. "Nice to meet you two. I'm going to be your roommate. Welcome to the UOCB by the way, you're in for a ride." She says with a huge smile on her face. "Alright now that you're good, I'll see you in a bit." BJ says embracing me into a hug.

I hug him tightly as if I wasn't going to see him for years. "I gotta go get this basketball stuff settled, I'll call you over to the dorm a little bit later." He told me. He releases me from his embrace, and we started to do our little sibling handshake we used to do when we were kids.

"Love you." I say. He smiles, and opens the door. "Be nice." He then finally looked at Mari giving her a glance. More flirtatious at that. "Nice meeting you Mari." He says, eventually walking out and closing the door behind him.

After my brother left Mari started to squeal like a middle school girl with a school crush. She walked closer towards me, and the words that came out her mouth made me want to throw up.

"Girl, your brother is fine! Your parents did a good job!" She says. For a moment I think she's playing, but nope, she's serious. I give her the most disgusting look as if she just killed a puppy or something. "Okay uh, first rule let's not discuss...that thing." I say sitting my bags on the empty bed.

The room was all white and had purple and white string lights hanging around the room. "You like purple right?" She asked me. I shrugged. "It's not a bad color. The shade you picked out was nice." I said to her. She smiled.

"I'm so excited for this year." She said to me. I sat on my bed which was the opposite side from hers and started unpacking. I think I packed nearly my entire closet. So far Mari wasn't so bad. She seemed very perky and all. What I do know is that she is beyond gorgeous. She started putting her shoes onto a small rack she had. "So, tell me about yourself." She told me.

Yikes. If it's one thing that I hate talking about is myself. I know people may think because the way I dress, I must love to brag about myself. That's the exact opposite. "Well, I'm from San Fransisco, I lived with my mother and father, and I have two brothers." I told her pushing my hair behind my ear. She sat on her bed and began to literally look directly at me.

"That's amazing! Sadly, I'm the only child, but I grew up with a lot of friends, so they've all turned into somewhat a family." She said smiling. I nodded. "Yeah, I'm the youngest out of both my brothers. BJ was surprisingly the most spoiled. Especially by my mother. My dad spoiled me the most though. "That must suck being the youngest. What's it like?" She asked me.

Shit. I don't want to talk about this at all. I hate talking about myself and opening up. That mushy crap is by far the most cringy shut ever. "Um...well. It's kind of not bad. By my brothers I was always teased. Being the only girl wasn't always a perk." I speak.

"What about your brothers? Where's your other one?" She asked me. As much as I know she's just trying to get to know me, this bitch is kind of nosey. "He's dead." I say straight up.

She has all of a sudden lost words. "I..I'm so sorry." She says to me. He eyes looked like she was about to start crying.

Please don't cry. If she cries I don't know what I'm going to do I don't handle these situations well. "It's okay though. For the past two years I've learned to adjust to him not being here." I say to her with a half-smile. She smiles back and nods. "I think we both have tons of unpacking to do." She says and giggles a bit. "If you want, you can come with me to go see BJ in a little while. I want to see how his dorm looks." I say. She smiles and nods. I guess nods are our new thing.
