After we finished unpacking, Mari and I decided to walk to BJ's dorm. The campus was so pretty. They had all these big light brown buildings. They looked so historic but it was nice.
Mari began to point out at different people and started going on about how she loved diversity. I've never met anyone so interested in well, people. We arrived to BJ's dorm and it was actually bigger than our building. "That's bullshit. The size difference is kind of unfair." I say to her. She shrugs. "This campus usually gets more guys than girls most often." She said. "Understandable than." I say to her opening the door to BJ's building.
It was kind of similar to ours, they had a lounge, and many bookshelves and study areas. I saw BJ sitting with a group of guys. How the hell did he make friends before I did? I walked over to the group of guys and BJ stood up while laughing with his new friends. "Hey, I thought you were coming later?" He asked me. I shake my head no and he rolls his eyes. "What?" I snap.
"Nothing mom keeps blowing up my phone." He said. For a moment I thought he was catching an attitude with me. His friends kept eyeing Mari and I. I've got to admit they were cute. At least some of them. "Banks, you wanna introduce us to your friends?" One of the guys said. I stood there with my arms crossed. Here we go.
"This is my sister Leah, and that's her roommate Mari." BJ says. One of the guys begin to smirk at me. Attractive yes, other than that I couldn't put it into words. B lack hair, and he had multiple tattoos. One of the guys stood up. He was wearing a jean jacket with a red hoodie and red and white vans. "Nice to meet you too, your brother didn't mention how pretty his sister was." My cheeks began to flush, and I couldn't help but smile."Thank you." I said to him. Okay, BJ's new found friends may be the reason I come over here everyday. "Anyways Leah, I'm Sam." The guy says. I nodded. The rest of the boys were busy having a conversation. Mari started to talk to one guy who BJ said name was Christian. The guy that had smirked at me earlier was sitting down going through his phone.
"Hey I'll be right back, I got to call mom. You just sit here and chill." He told me. "Alright, hurry up. You know how I feel about to talking to people." I said to him as he rolled his eyes, and made his way upstairs. I sat on the couch next to the cute guy. I looked at him from the corner of my eye for a while, admiring simply. As he looks over I fall to my defeat has he catches my gaze.
He put his phone down and looked my way. "What's up." He said to me. I turned his way, for some reason Happy he acknowledged me. "Hey." I say quickly. I started playing with my hands out of habit when I meet new people.
"Leah right?" He asks me. I nodded. "That's nice, I'm Damon." He said. I nodded again. He let out a laugh, humored by me somehow. "Are you always so quiet?" He asked, and started to scoot closer to me. "Only to complete strangers." I snapped.Oh shit that wasn't meant to come out.
His grin only grows. "You're a mean one huh?" He said. He kept giving me this look like he wanted to kiss me or something, it was cute but, he was making me extremely uncomfortable. "Can you stop looking at me like that?" I asked him. He started moving closer to me, and I began to move back. "Like what?" He said. "Like that!" I say rolling my eyes trying my hardest not to laugh.
Another guy jumps over the couch between Damon and I. He was a brown skin boy with curly hair.
He leaned closer to me and put his arm around me and Damon. "What's up friends, Oh, I'm Lionel by the way, You must be Leah." He said extremely close to me. I moved his arm from over my shoulder. "Yes, now remove the arm before things get violent." I say sounding very threatening with a nicer tone. Damon and Lionel began to laugh. "Chill I was only playing. I'm not really like that." He said before getting up.
"So, you're a freshman." He assumed. I nodded. "All you do is nod huh?" Damon asked. "Yes, is there anything else you want to know?" I asked. He nodded and gave me this flirtatious look.
"What's your number?" He asked. I couldn't help but laugh. "If you think you are getting my number you got another thing coming buddy." I said standing up.
*Whats taking you so long? Your friends are getting too comfortable.* I texted.
*I'll be down soon. Mom keeps pestering me about you. By the way the guys are on the basketball team with me so don't do anything stupid.*
I rolled my eyes at his text and put my phone in my pocket. Basketball team? He never said he was trying out.
Damon and I kept making unwanted eye contact. As appealing to the eye as he was I wasn't the type of girl to jump a guys bones within the first day. "Is there something you want to say?" I ask him. He shakes his head no.
"You're just nice to look at." He said to me. As hard as it was to be serious all I could think of doing was laughing.
A while later a couple more guys came into the dorm hall along with BJ. They all sat across the couch. Mari sat on the opposite side of me. A group of girls came in. One of them had black hair with this skin tight dress on. "Very college appropriate.." I whisper to myself.
She begin to flirt with a couple of the guys sitting on the opposite couch. My mind tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but no, I was right, she's a whore. BJ walked in and sat beside the guys on the other couch. "Is this the entire basketball team or something?" I asked.
"Yeah, were all pretty good." One guy said. I laughed. "What's funny? Oh I'm Jason by the way." The guy said.
Okay?
"Good to know.. anyways, I'll believe it when I see it." I spoke. "Believe it now baby because, we're taking it home this year." Damon said.
"Bold." I simply reply.
"Okay one, not your baby, two I said what I said, I'll believe it when I see it." I repeat. All the guys begin to chatter loudly at my response, "She told you Damon." Jason says. "Okay you, fuck off." He spoke. I couldn't help but laugh. "So, since were all new here, how about we get to know each other?" Christian said.
"Most of us grew up together here in California." He adds. I couldn't help but notice Christians eyes. They were this...grey color, which complimented his brown hair, he's wearing this really cute outfit. A white plain tee shirt with adidas pants. I couldn't help but notice Mari laughing with my brother. They honestly would make a cute couple in my opinion.
"So BJ what are you majoring in?" Christian asked. "Real estate." He answered quickly. "That's great man. You must be good at negotiating things then." Christian said obviously interested in my brothers career. The boy sitting on the floor near Damon mumbles a couple of words.
When it comes to my brother, I get really defensive. "What was that?" I say referring to him. "I said real estate is a girls thing." The blue hair-stained boy says. I scoff.
"In all honesty it's not a girls thing. Matter of fact, no profession belongs to any gender. If he wants to do real estate, he's going to fucking do real estate okay?" I say raising my voice. The guy puts his hands up in defense.
"Jeez it's not that serious. I was just saying..." He says. I roll my eyes. Everyone is a little silent by my little outburst. Was I a little too harsh? No, I never get that pissed off. Chill Leah it's the first day, the first day in a place to turn over a new leaf.
"We haven't properly introduced ourselves, let's go in a circle and say one thing about ourselves and our name." Mari suggests.
The girl who I said looked like a slut laughs at Maria's suggestion. "What are we in elementary school? Hell no." She said.
I roll my eyes. "It's not a bad idea actually, not everyone knows each other, why not try it?" I say trying to be on Mari's side. Mari looks at me and gives a smile. I give her a half smile back.
Everyone starts to agree and we start with Christian who sits on the floor and fiddles with his hands. This should be good.
