I stomped up the stairs and stormed into Nathaniels room hoping for a fight. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, with his earphones in. I stand in front of him, trying to gather my words, and hoping he'd notice me at some point. I roll my eyes, as I realize he's ignoring me. After his failed attempt to trying to push me away, I snatch the earphones out of his ears, making him jump up immediately.
"You can't do that to me. You can't try to "protect me" when in reality you're just pushing me away!" I blurt out trying to make a point.
He hovers over me rubbing him forehead as if he had a headache. I continue, "You can't fight this, you can't fight us." I shake my head as the tears that I held onto force themselves out of eyes. He cups my cheeks with both of his hands as I contemplate into his eyes.
"For once in my life I'm trying to do the right thing. I'm trying, to do right by you. You deserve Christian. Not some guy with drug problems, and anger issues." He quietly says, with his hands still cupped to my cheek, he gently rubs his thumb along my cheeks. I grab ahold of his wrist, letting my hands rest onto them.
"You don't get to make that decision for me. No one decides what's best for me." I release my hands from his wrist, back away from him. "Now. If you really want me to leave-" I step forward to him and confidently look up, challenging him. "You're gonna have to make me leave." I glare at him with both anger, and sadness in my eyes. He sighs, and shakes his head following a chuckle.
"Then I guess you're staying." A grin grows onto his face, and I can't help but smile. His hands slowly motion to my waist, and my heartbeat begins to increase as he pulls me in closer to him. I think back to the day we first met. The harder I resisted the temptation, the more he pulled. It felt like each time I got closer to him, the less I tried to hate him, avoid him..be with him. He grabs my chin, lifting my head up in his direction.
"I'm never letting you go. Ever."
I gulp. "Ever?"
He shakes his head and leans in, his lips held closely to my ear. "Ever." He whispers. My lips turn into a smile and I look at him, pulling his face closer to mines. My breath becomes shaky as our lips touch, and press against each other. I push my chest against his, as I kiss him deeply. He holds my face kissing me back softly, fighting the urge that tells him to use more aggression. He pulls away as my phone flashes.
I look away from him and down at my phone, reading a message from Tyler. "Come with me and Sam to see Damon today?" I sigh and type quickly, agreeing to meet them at the hospital.
"You have somewhere to be?" He mutters. I look his way and nod. "Yeah I was actually going to the hospital with Sam and Tyler to visit Damon." I bite the inside of my cheek, deciding if it's best to ask him for a ride."Hey, you mind bringing me?" He looks down at me and nods his head, forcing a smile. "Yeah. If you need a ride back just call me." He says quietly, rubbing his hands along my arms. I smile and grab my bag following him out to the car.
As we arrive I look his way, sitting at the entrance of the hospital. "I'll see you later." I quietly speak, placing a peck onto his lips. He nods moving the strand of hair from my face. "Be careful." He calls out as I make my way out of the car and into the hospital. I walk to the front desk, approaching the woman who seems middle aged. She points me into the direction of Damons room.
I walk in with a smile as I see Sam, Tyler sitting down next to Damons bed, who is sitting up laughing with the two. As I walk in the attention is turned to me, smiles plastered onto their face. "Hey guys." I say hugging Tyler, and Sam. I motion my body to Damon and hug him tightly. "Ow." He laughs.
"So, we heard the news." Sam blurts, as I look in his direction. I furrowed my eyebrows, a bit confused. "What news?" I say crossing my arms.
"You and Christian. Why didn't you tell anyone?" Tyler questions, leaning against the wall. "Yeah we could've been there for you. Christian may be our friend but, so are you." Sam adds, backing up Tyler. I roll my eyes. "Look guys I know I should've but I needed to think. I couldn't do that with all of you guys around." I quickly respond.
Tyler parts his lips beginning to speak but lets out a sigh. I step up to him. "No no. Go on." I reply eagerly wanting to know what he has to say. He throws his hands up. "If you needed the space I understand. I won't pressure you on it." He bites back, sitting down.
Damon chuckles. "So actually guys, I'm getting released today." We all raise our eyebrows, surprised by the news. "Really?" I ask.
He nods running his fingers through his hair. "Yeah, I figured we could all go to the dorm lounge and hang out. You know..like where it all started." Damon reminisces. A warm smile form on my lips and I nod. "Yeah that would be fun." I confidently reply. Damon points to his bag of clothes, and I hand it to him. The three of us walk into the hall as he changes, waiting patiently for him.
When he finishes we all make our way to Sams car, and make our way to the boys dorms. Spending some time with my friends makes me feel as if everything's going well. At least for just one moment. I want to believe that I can have a simple afternoon with my friends without any drama. Even if Christian shows up, I won't give into an argument, or bother to fight with anyone for that matter. I just want to push all of the weight off of my shoulders for one night, and have fun.
