Vein slammed into the freezing snow, back first. He groaned painfully as sharp, icy-cold snow entered his back wound, making it sting and burn.

He was to painfully hurt to do anything. He knew that Blizzard was dead, and his only chance of survival was to flee back to his home territory. He would die, either way, what with Queen Magma and all, but he preferred not to die by the hands of enemies. He outstretched his blood-red wings, but before he was over the coast, he heard a screech. He stopped what he was doing, temporarily falling as he strained his ears. But soon he was coasting back to the building he thought he'd abandoned.

He burst through the hole he fell through, making a bigger shower of bricks, and was VERY HAPPY to find out that he was wrong about everything. Well, inside the building, anyway. Blizzard was still alive, though he had a nasty gash on his neck. He grappled with Timestopper, and Vein saw that his wound didn't gush blood out very fast. Vein figured it was magic keeping Blizzard together. How much of this TimeWing did he still need to know?

Blizzard noticed him, and he called to him. "Hey! Friend!"---which was without a doubt the most cringiest thing Vein had ever heard---"I NEED A LITTLE HELP HERE!"

At once Vein launched himself at Timestopper. She turned and snarled at him, and he got the feeling that she was trying to freeze him in time. But Blizzard gave a solid punch to her horn, which made her break the concentration and roared. Vein jumped over Blizzard and fell on top of Timestopper, pinning her on the ground. He managed to wrestle her down between grunts, but he finally got her to stop moving.

"You better not move at all," Vein warned. "Or I'll turn your brain to charcoal."

"BloodWing, BloodWing," Timestopper said as if he failed his latest test. "I can't believe you trust TimeWings. Aren't we the sworn enemy of your tribe? Are you betraying your tribe?"

Vein froze. Oh, no! Why did I betray Queen Magma! Oh well. I should get off this TimeWing though. She doesn't look bad. Maybe I can---?

"Ah! Those aren't my thoughts! What are you doing to---"

"Vein? Vein?" Blizzard called, but it seemed faint.

Why did I leave my home tribe? Why did I abandoned them and join the TimeWings? Why? Why? Why-why-why-why why-why-WHY? I have to go back. I can not---

Shut up, Timestopper. That's not my thoughts!

Suddenly, the false thoughts vanished from his brain. He looked and noticed that Blizzard's eyes were closed, and his face was clammy. He realized, all of a sudden, what Timestopper had done. But before he could react, he was thrown off her. He hurtled through the now-sickening tile floor and crashed into the seat where Timestopper sat. He smacked into the wall with such force that made it fall all over him. Three bonked his head, and he just managed to stay conscious. He swept the debris away with his tail and clutched on in his talons.

He lobbed one at Timestopper with deadly accuracy. It clocked her head and knocked her down with one blow. Blizzard scrambled onto Timestopper, who snarled and growled.

Vein approached Timestopper. She sneered at him as he crouched down.

"You know, I might've actually let you live if you were good. Your powers could help." He said softly.

"Power?" She spat. "I have no power!"

"Nice try, Time-Snuggly, but I suppose you don't have power now." He viciously outstretched his claws and snapped off her two horns. Timestopper roared with such fury that Vein nearly blacked out, but he managed to hold on.

"Now, Blizzard, if you may kindly get off our friend here," Vein said, deathly calm. Blizzard stepped off, and as soon as he backed up, Vein furiously shot a bolt of flame at Timestopper's back.

It smashed into her, and she roared and thrashed. But through the thrashing, she managed to fit a thought in his mind.

This is not the end. I have a companion . . . who hates you more than any she ever has, Vein.
