Lazy hazy days of summer

Sun shines through the window, illuminating the whole room. You lay curled up under the cosy sheets, half asleep half awake, listening to the birds sing.
Paying little attention to anything, behind the closed door you hear josh and jake chatting in the hallway.
"...so how do you feel about her?",josh asks jake.
"I'm not actually sure, we've only known each other for 4 days. She's amazing but I hardly know anything about her",replies jake.
"You know I think I feel the same way jakey. I'll obviously try to respect the way you feel about her but she's one of the most interesting girls I've ever met.",states josh.
"We can't let this get between us,no matter what happens.Promise?" Pleads jake.
Josh without anytime to think responds,"Of course I promise, you're my brother and my best friend."

The boys seem to like making promises but this was something that couldn't be broken. You feel anxious because whatever you feel will always end up breaking someone's heart. Of course they're both talented and intelligent not to mention their looks but they're both different in so many ways. But that's what you've liked about them since you first met them.
When it seems like everyone has made there way downstairs, you roll out of bed and get ready. Grabbing a pair of shorts and a plain shirt you quickly change and skip downstairs,
"Morning, did you get a good nights sleep and what do you fancy for breakfast?",cheerily questions karen.
"Yes,thank you. I never sleep in this late usually but I normally go to sleep early so if I've missed breakfast it's fine.",you say.
"Oh yeah you'll only just be getting used to the whole band thing but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time. I'll make you whatever you fancy, breakfast never ends in this house the boys are all night owls and have been eating cereals as a midnight snack for as long as I can remember."she happily reminisces.
"I'll have whatever is easiest then please and I hope I get used to it's soon I don't think the bags under my eyes can take it much longer",you both laugh and carry on chatting.
About 5 mins later eating your cereal Jake, Josh and Sammy walk into the kitchen. Pretending like you didn't hear anything you smile and say a warm good morning.
"You're always too happy on a morning,it's unnatural",yawns sam.
"Mornings are the best part of the day if you ask me",you reply looking shocked at him.
Jake interrupts Sam as he sits down opposite you,"What makes mornings so good?"
"Well you've got the sunrise,it's a good temperature for everything,I'm personally always wide awake on a morning and mornings in general make me happy",you smile.
"You do make mornings sound good",Jake begins but something you've never felt before spirals round your body and you can only think about waking up next to jake,"everyone is going to take a walk today and after I can show you around If you'd like?"
"yeah that sounds great,I'll finish getting ready now because I need to do some writing but we could go out before the walk since I've made you like mornings", you giggle.
"Okay it's set in stone now you can't back out,I'll meet you at the Michigan hero's museum at 10:30, I need to go get a few things first",he chirps.

After saying thanks for breakfast and bye to the boys, you walk up the stairs. Happy as ever, you brush on some blush and comb your hair ready for your first sight seeing!

Staring at your laptop you fade away into your imagination and wonder what today and the rest of the tour will be like but this makes you worry. What if you say you know jake likes you or you get in the middle of jake and josh?
Quickly you snap yourself out of that inevitable downwards spiral of thoughts and finish writing your last paragraph.

It 10 o'clock. You've got half an our to walk to somewhere you didn't even know existed,in a place you've never seen,by yourself.
Crawling out of bed,you grab your coat and bag and race down the stairs. Almost crashing into josh you abruptly stop and shout,"where's the Michigan heroes museum?!"
"Don't worry, calm down," he begins as he guides you to the front door and points down the road,"look you walk all the way down the road till you reach the town and take a right, two lefts and then another right until you are there."
Calling from the kitchen Karen suggests,"josh I've lived here all my life and even to me that sounds confusing, why don't you just walk her?"
Josh beams with delight,"you know that's a great idea! I'll just go get my jacket and then we can go."
Not sure whether this was the best or worst idea you've been involved in, cautiously you follow josh out of the door as he smiles willingly.
"It's so beautiful here",you comment.
"It really is. You should see it in the autumn, the trees are so many shades of gold and browns and the airs so crisp,it's amazing",josh replies.
"Do you not wish you could spend more time here?",you ask.
He replies,"I love being at home and seeing my family but I actually quite enjoy touring. I love seeing different sides of the world and if we didn't tour we wouldn't have met you."
"Pffft-you don't need me,I'm just extra baggage",you laugh.
"No way are you extra baggage. Honestly I can't wait to spend this tour with someone who isn't the boys,it's going to be a whole new experience for us because none have us have really experienced a world outside of music",he giddily replies.
The conversation carries on, with a few pauses as you both take in your surroundings.
"Hey look there's jake",states josh.
"I hope he hasn't been waiting long I wasn't sure how long it was going take us to walk",you exclaim, not realising josh didn't know you were meeting jake.
"Oh well, erm what time did you need to meet!",he awkwardly asks.
"10:30 but I'm sure he won't mind if Im a bit late, the walk here was amazing thank you",you smile as you wave bye and shout see you later as you walk towards jake.

"Sorry if I'm late I didn't know where I was even going, so I asked josh-",you plead.
Jake jumps in,"-don't worry honestly,I'd wait for you even if you were an hour late,I'm a gentleman",he giggles as he leads you through the centre of town.
"Where are we going?",you question.
"It's a surprise but you can have a clue I suppose",he begins,"it's just by the river".
Chatting away he takes you over the river bride into the local park. Light shines through the cracks of the tall evergreens as one beam of light guides down to an open space.
"This was my favourite place to come when I was younger,so I thought we could start here",he whispers as though he doesn't want to startle the birds.
"This is the most beautiful place I've ever been, I don't think I want to leave",you reply staring in awe.
"We don't have to if you don't want, we're going to see most things in town later on anyway.",he longingly persuades.

You nod as you both lay your backs against a rock and look up at the bright blue sky. Although there is a silence, you know there's isn't any need for conversation, you both know everything that needs to be said. Jake slowly tilts his head to face you, you do the same and both burst out laughing.
You both shuffle in closer so you can rest your head upon his shoulder.
Looking up at him you smile and say,"Thank you for bringing me here".
"I'm just glad you like it",he grins.
"Who wouldn't, i couldn't think of anything I would rather be doing",you say softly as your eyes twinkle in the sunlight.
"I really like you,you know",he sighs with relief.
"It's a good job I feel the same way or we'd just be in an awkward mess",you chuckle with joy.
Just as you could have imagined,Jake gently leans in puckering his soft lips against yours;what a perfect day.
