You wake up after hearing a loud bang. You sit up. You realise that you're still at the Curtis's house. It was night time. There was nobody else in the room. You hear voices. Your whole body tenses up when you recognise the voices. Darry and Sodapop were back. You felt like you were awaiting a trial. You see Darrys head pop round the corner.
"You can go", he says.
You stand up and go to walk out of the house.
"Oh and Cherry says that she's sorry for leaving you at the drive in, and that she won't be in school for a few weeks because she's planning the funeral".
You give a weak smile and walk out.

You gain energy from the cold wind and start to sprint home. There was nobody around. No greasers or socs. Nobody at all. You felt at peace. You arrived home. You opened the door, stood at the other side of the door was your dad.
"Where have you been young lady?" Your dad says, obviously agitated.
"I've been with Cherry", you say, trying to walk past him. He blocks your path and says "you've been crying".
"We got into and argument." You reply. You push past him, walked upstairs and collapsed into your bed. You look at your clock. It was 11:46pm. You were upset that you had spent your first Saturday in Tulsa like this. You were just drifting off to sleep when you heard a soft tap at your window. You were confused. Your bedroom was 3 stories high, how can something be touching it at all? There were no trees nearby. You hear it again and walk up to it.

You open it and see Steve and Twobit stood below. They were throwing stones at your window. Just as you opened it a small stone that Twobit had thrown flew passed your head and landed on your carpet.
"Twobit you dipshit, the nearly hit her", Steve laughed.
"Sorry darling, can we come up?" Twobit shouted up, also laughing.
"No, my parents are home", you mouthed, not wanting them to hear.
You see Steve run off around the corner of your house. Twobit ran off after with. You then see Steve walk back around with a large ladder in his arms. You smile as he's putting it up. They both proceed to climb it and through your window. They leave the ladder there, ready for when they had to leave.

Twobit made himself at home straight away, taking his shoes off and laying on your bed. Steve hugged you.
"We're sorry", Twobit says from across the room.
"You have nothing to be sorry for, it's nobody's fault". You reply.
"Darry didn't handle it well", Steve says, "after youd gone, old Darry was saying that he felt bad for treating you like that and that he accused you of being a soc".
You smile at him. You then both go and lie next to Twobit, you in the middle.
"So anyway, my lady, we felt bad for how you were treated earlier today so we came to make you feel better. I'm tired, Steve you know what?" Twobit says
Steve shakes his head.
"I think if the princess here allows it, we should stay here the night". Twobit says, looking at you.
You laugh out loud, "are you sure?" You ask.
They both nod in unison.

All three of you lay down quietly for a few minutes. You then sit up when you hear Twobit snoring. You look at Steve and you both laugh.
"I feel so hot", you say, standing up.
"You look hot", Steve says, in a tired mumble.
You blush and look away from him. You go into your bathroom and change into a loose crop top to try and decrease the heat. 3 grown teenagers sharing a single bed in the summer was not a good idea. You go back in and Steve had taken his shirt off and had his arm out towards you.
"Come on darling, it's late".
You lay down next to him and he puts his arm around you. You've never felt this comfortable in your life.

Soon enough morning came. You jolted upright when you see the morning light shining through your curtains,
"STEVE! TWOBIT", you shout.
They both sit up, startled.
"The ladder", you say, panicked.
"Oh shit", they say in unison and climb back down the ladder.
Twobit goes around the corner to put the ladder back and Steve stands there and waves at you, he then winks once. You smile at him then wave goodbye to Twobit and shut your window.

You smile to yourself and sit back down on your bed. You see Steve's white T-shirt on your floor. You pick it up and smell it. It smelt like flowers and mint. You smile and replace your crop top with it. It was extremely large on you but it made you feel comfortable.

What a first week in Tulsa it had been. There had been a death, you'd been kidnapped, you'd made some good new friends and had a sleepover in just 2 days. What more could this new place bring?
