Chapter 9

It has been a month since Taehyung has been taking care of his ex-husband.
After the truth was revealed, everyone was willing to give Jeongguk a second chance.

But Taehyung knows that it will be impossible to go back to how they were before and that it would take time to get used to each other.

But the good news was, Jeongguk was showing improvement.

His vital signs and his response to the treatment was getting better each day and Taehyung couldn't be happier.

"Hey Good Morning Jeongguk. I just dropped off the kids at Yoongi hyung's. They wanted to come here today but Yoongi hyung demanded that they spend some times with him too...."

Taehyung like to talk to Jeongguk as if he could hear him. Which he hope he did.

"You know.. you should meet Yoongi hyung when you recover. He's a very cool hyung. He takes care of me and the kids very well. I know you will like him too. Because I like him very much."

He was interrupted by a chuckle.

He looked at Jeongguk who was lying still and then he quickly turned around to see Seokjin, his brother.

"You scared me!" He gasped dramatically.

Seokjin snorted.

"It was so funny! I don't think Jeongguk would like to meet Yoongi. Yoongi literally have heart eyes for you. I swore you two were gonna date. Even Taeggukie called him Papa one time."

Taehyung just rolled his eyes.

He was about to reply with a sarcastic answer but he was cut off by the machine.

The two nurses turned their attention towards the monitor to see the heartbeat has spiked up and that Jeongguk was slowly fluttering his eyes open.

"Jeongguk. Jeongguk.. Oh My God! Hyung call Doctor Kim." Taehyung cried.

He's a nurse, a professional and experienced one. But he couldn't keep calm because finally, Jeongguk wake up!

"Tae.." Jeongguk weakly called out. His voice was hoarse and weak.

"Yes Ggukie. I'm here.. I'm here" Taehyung said, holding his hand.

Tears slipped out of Jeongguk's eyes as he lovingly but weakly gazed at him.

"You're here..baby.. you're here."

Taehyung smiled despite his tears.

"I'm here Ggukie. You're okay.. you're okay.."

Doctor Kim along with Seokjin and one other doctor, an intern came inside with a shocked expression.

Taehyung tried to move aside to make some space for the doctor but Jeongguk wouldn't let him go. He hold on to him with all the strength that he had. He panicked as he thought Taehyung was going to leave him.

Taehyung quickly chastised him.
"Its okay baby. Don't worry.. I'm not leaving. . Let the Doctor check you. Okay? I'll be right here."

Jeongguk let out a relief sigh but didn't release his hold on Taehyung's hand.

Doctor Kim just smiled and scrutinized Jeongguk from the other side.

"Its a miracle! Its a miracle!" That's all he could say.

After relaying the information and results to Taehyung and removing the unnecessary wires and the oxygen mask, the doctor with the nurse and intern left to give the family a private moment.

Seokjin walked closer to the bed hesitantly.

"Hey Jeongguk." He greeted.

Jeongguk weakly smiled at him but he did not released his hold on Taehyung not even for a bit.

"Get well soon. Yeah?" Seokjin said.

Jeongguk nodded his head.

An understanding went through between them without them having to say anything.

Seokjin won't apologize. Not right now. He will properly do that later.

Taehyung was flustered under the intense gaze of his ex-husband who was just staring at him the whole time.

"Ggukie..do you want to rest now?" He asked.

Jeongguk smiled.

"I love you Taehyung." He said.

Taehyung hold back his tears.

"And I'm so sorry baby. I'm so fucking sorry.." Jeongguk said with tears streaming down his eyes.

"Ggukie.. ggukie please don't cry. Okay? I know the truth now baby. We know the truth now. Its okay baby. I forgive you. I'm sorry for not giving you a chance to explain.." He said.

Jeongguk slightly shook his head.

"No.. baby.. it was me! I left.. I just fucking left. I hate myself baby! I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!" He cried.

Taehyung wiped Jeongguk's tears.

"Baby. Please don't cry okay? I don't want you to get hurt anymore. Okay? Let's not cry. We'll talk about everything when you're better. Okay?" Taehyung said.

Jeongguk sighed.

"I love you" was all he could say.

Taehyung chuckled.

"I know Ggukie. I love you too."

Jeongguk closed his eyes peacefully. And then he opened them again.

"Baby. . I love you" He said again.

Taehyung chuckled through his tears.

"I love you too Ggukie."

"I missed you Tae. Baby. . I missed you so much.." Jeongguk voice was getting weak.

"Baby.. I missed you too. But for now, you need rest. Okay? Don't be stress and we'll figure everything out when you're strong enough okay?" Taehyung requested.

Jeongguk happily sighed and nodded, content with the moment.
