jack saw the wheels turning in jonah's brain. the note had said jonah or corbyn. he was going to give himself up. jonah looked over and jack opened his mouth.

'don't do it.' he mouthed to his companion. jonah shook his head.

'i'm doing it for him.' as jack deciphered the mouthed words jonah discreetly pointed to corbyn.

'then tell the others!' jack was getting mad. jonah couldn't do this. he hadn't know the boy for long, but he couldn't let his best friend go.

"i'll go." but it wasn't jonah who opened his mouth, it was corbyn.

"oh, hell no." jonah immediately spoke. corbyn looked at him.

"i'm not letting you go." jack just watched the two bicker.

"I'M GOING AND THATS FINAL." corbyn yelled and blue erupted in his eyes. jack jumped up and got between the two.

"stop! we'll think of something! does it say where to meet anyone?" jack asked and looked between the two.

"base a in..." jonah's voice trailed off as he looked at the town inwhich it was built in.

"in...?" jack prompted.

"S-Stillwater. Stillwater, Minnesota." jack saw him gulp and was concerned.

"what's got you worked up?" jack asked turning away from the raging corbyn to him.

"i-i-uhm-it-its nothing." he got up quickly and sped from the room. jack was determined to find out what was wrong, so he followed him.

"jonah. jonah!" the boy turned to him and he saw him crying.

"m-my father. he hates me. he lives in Stillwater. an-and my siblings. they're there too. an-and a girl tha-that-" jonah couldn't finish. jack pulled him into a hug.

"it'll be okay, jonah. if you lay low, he won't find you. we'll make sure of it." jack rubbed his back. "we got you, jonah. nobody can hurt you as long as you're with us." he felt jonah nod and soon another person hugged them.

"i'm sorry." the words were quiet, but jack could tell it was corbyn. he pulled away and the blonde took jonah into his arms. jack smiled before jogging back to daniel and zach.
