"Diana, could you please, pass me the um..." Jimin scratched the back of his neck as he tried to remember how to pronounce the English words for small paint brush.
"Blue paint?" Diana asked trying to figure out what he was asking for but Jimin shakes his head cutely and went back to painting on his canvas. Diana sighed but continued to watch him paint. In the basement.
Diana wasn't the one to pry a situation but while he was painting his face look distress, almost as if he was holding back something from her which worried her. Jimin would tell her everything even his wet dreams, so what is it that he couldn't tell her?
"I'm going to seokjin's restaurant, is there anything you want?" Diana asked while getting off the floor. "Don't leave me please" Jimin said in a tone of desperation then pouted. " chim-fairy what's wrong? You don't act like this when I leave the house." Diana walker over to him and rest a hand on his shoulder.
"I-...please stay?" He asked then sighed. How was he supposed to tell her to get a job when she has zero qualifications and no evidence of having an education? The bills were starting to pile up and the family didn't have enough. Jimin worked as a kindergarten teacher but his parents forced him to quit his job to work as an office assistant at a security firm which paid 30% more but it still wasn't enough. Jimin loves Diana but this job requires too much out of him and he wanted to quit but he couldn't until she got a job and then he can quit and go back to teaching at kindergarten
The deal was to let Diana stay In Korea with Mrs Park for 3 months not 8 years. When Diana's mother called for her to come back at the age of 16, her father threatened to hit her mother again and when Mrs Park heard about this, she had no choice but to keep her even though she knew that the father would be abusive regardless.
The money that Mrs Park made from selling her fruits and flowers were enough to buy food and pay for electricity, what about water bills? Clothing? Rent? WIFI? Mr Park was already retired so their only choice was Diana.
Diana sat on his lap and took the paint out of hand. "Chim" She said in almost a whisper. "Tell me what's wrong" she said and looked him dead in the eye to which he looked down.
Diana raised his head up by his chin then he slapped her hand away. "What was that for?" Diana asked, surprised. "Get off of me" Jimin responded softly. "But you like it when I sit on y-" before Diana could finish her sentence she was on the floor and Jimin was walking out the door.
"Ow!" Diana rubbed her butt then stared at the door in disbelief. Jimin has never been physical towards her, something must be up.
"Chim! Get back here!" Diana shouted while running towards the kitchen. She spotted Jimin sitting on a stool in the kitchen with his arms crossed and his place were pouted. His mother was oblivious to the situations as he was humming an old song and cutting vegetables.
"leave me alone!" Jimin shouted angrily. "but I didn't do anything! Talk to me!" Diana shouted back and walked closer to Jimin which made him jump off the stool and push his mother in front of himself while holding her arms and standing behind her as a form of defence.
"ay, AY! What is the meaning of all of this? Let go of me!" Mrs park squirmed her way of Jimin's grip and stood between the both.
"he is being mean to me and I did nothing wrong!" Diana shouted to which Mrs park give her the finger which meant to watch your tone.
"Jimin-ah, does this have anything to do with what I told you to tell her?" Mrs park questioned while raising one of her eyebrows. "yes, ma "Jimin answered in a small voice then bowed his head in distress.
Just then Jimin's father, walks into the kitchen and placed his reading book on counter, he took off his reading glasses then walks over to the trio.
"Jimin, raise your head and look at your mother when she's speaking to you" Mr park said in a stern voice which made Jimin obey almost immediately. "sorry, ma" Jimin apologized and his mother gave him a small smile.
"what is it that Jimin needs to tell me?" Diana asked which made Mrs park gave Jimin the death glare for not telling her yet. Jimin gulped and refused to look in the direction of his father who had the oozing aura of curiosity around him.
Jimin stepped forward and made eye contact with Diana who was confused.
"Diana, you have been a liability to my family and you need to get a job or get out" Jimin said in a tone of indifference with a blank face, his tone made his sentence hurt more than expected which caused Diana to blink her threatening tears away.
"Park Jimin!" his father said in a surprising tone. Jimin walked away from them and straight to his room, ignoring the calls of his mother.
"I'm very sorry my dear, that isn't what Jimin was meant to say" Mrs park said in a soothing tone which made a wave of anger rush through the veins of Diana. "what exactly was he meant to say? Huh?" Diana said in a tons that was some what bitter. Mr park raised his eyebrow because of her tone but before he can scold her Mrs park spoke.
"Jimin meant to say that the bills are piling up and we do not have enough to pay them all so you need to get a job in order to help us or you will simply have to get somewhere else to stay" Mrs park explain.
"with all do respect, Hyung-sik and Soo Ae, I never asked to stay in Korea, you both know that I have no education and to add more salt to this wound, I'm black. How am I going to get a job in Korea? You are being impossible so I will just leave" Diana spat then walked out of the house.
Mrs park held her chest in surprise. She's never felt so disrespected and it angers her because of how ungrateful Diana was. Her husband was going to run after Diana to give her a good ear ringing, but she stopped him.
"let her go, she will come back" Mrs park said.
