"can you come with me this morning for class? Lee song kicked me out and I don't know if she'll take me back in" she explained and handed namjoon a mug of almond coffee
"Diana, why did you get kicked out? You know what I went through to get you in there, don't you appreciate what I've done for you?" Namjoon asked, a little disappointed by this new information. Whenever namjoon says her name like that, Diana feels a little weird, she feels somewhat cared for and it reminds her of the father she never had.
"It's not like that- you know how much I appreciate you and what you've done for me-" "oh really?" Namjoon cut her off, a little offended "yes, if you didn't know well now you do, I appreciate you, very much" she declared and Namjoon blushed a little.
"I didn't do anything stupid to get kicked out, all I did was make galbi and she kicked me out after she tasted it" Diana said her tone carefree, showing how petty the situation was. "Taehee told me that the galbi tasted good so why would she kick you out? "Namjoon asked. "I obviously don't know you jackass" Diana snarled and Namjoon narrowed his eyebrows, "sorry" she smiled nervously.
"Good morning, mom, dad" Taehee greeted happily and Namjoon spat out his coffee. "Oh, my bad, good morning, Deedee and daddy" Taehee said smiled sheepishly and sat the stool to have her breakfast. "Don't say things like that" Namjoon scolded but the 5-year-old only shrugged.
"Good morning Deedee and strange man" seoljun yawned and Namjoon glared at him then grabbed the cloth from Diana's hand so that he can wipe the mess he made instead of her. "Good morning kids" Diana greeted then added more strawberries to Taehee's pancakes.
Namjoon rinsed the cloth and hanged it up then walked to his children. "Good morning my little monsters" Namjoon said and ruffled seoljun's hair then kissed Taehee's cheek. Diana smiled at the sight. "Diana And I Are coming to your schools today" Namjoon announced. "You are?" Seoljun and Taehee said in unison "I am?" Diana asked after.
"Yes, And Yes "Namjoon said and pulled Diana aside. "When I did seoljun laundry, there was a lot of grass, dirty and juice stains on his clothes. I just thought he was playing at first but his face has a lot of scratches and then I thought that it was just PE but seoljun doesn't like PE so um..I think he's being bullied and he wouldn't tell us and Taehee's teacher wants to see me" Namjoon explained in a hush tone.
"First of all, when did you do laundry?" Diana asked, her eyes narrowing. "Don't judge me, I did their laundry when I no more work to do and I didn't do yours because that will just be. Weird and inappropriate..." he trailed and Diana nodded in agreement
"Secondly why don't you ask their mother? I'm not their mother y'know and I have classes to attend" Diana said and she did have a point.
"Yeah why didn't you ask me?" Hwasa asked as she walked into the kitchen. Namjoon looked like a deer caught in headlights. "I uh thought that uh you'd have um practice and other shit" Namjoon rambled and Hwasa let out a pathetic laugh, she felt a little pang in her chest. "You could've at least asked me" She said her voice showing signs of anger and jealousy.
"I didn't want to waste my breath to ask you to do something for our children because you always have some other shit to do, so I asked Diana because I know that she will do anything for these children that aren't even hers!" Namjoon snapped and Diana took the kids up to their room to get them ready for school, they did not need this amount of negative energy right now.
"I'm getting sick and tired of her messing with the relationship I have with my children!" Hwasa said and Diana heard it. "What relationship?" Seoljun asked, unamused and Diana cocked an eyebrow but he just shrugged and tied his laces.
"I'm not in the mood to do this right now, Diana is simply doing her job" Namjoon rubbed his temples and began to pack his children's lunch bags. "Her job is to be a nanny, not a mother!" Hwasa fumed which triggered namjoon.
"You're the one that hired her, if you were a 'mother' enough then you wouldn't have hired her, you're ungrateful, don't be a bitch" Namjoon hissed, his voice low and harsh.
Hwasa seemed to have lost her ability to speak. She stood there with nothing to say, just heavy breathing and her chest heaving. "Fuck off" she cursed then left.
"Ugh" Namjoon groaned but continued to pack their lunch bags. Diana came down not too long after with the kids holding her hands. "I'm sorry" Namjoon apologized and his children looked up at their father with pity. He's never apologized to them after an argument with their mother so they didn't really know how to react. Taehee got of Diana's grasped and ran to her father and hugged his legs "it's okay, Deedee is always here" she comforted
"I know " Namjoon was response and pinched her cheek. He looked at Diana and saw that she was already smiling at him. "How bout we all leave together? We'll drop you guys to school; I'll drop Diana to class and then I'll go to work" Namjoon suggested and the children squealed.
Seoljun and Taehee May have been kids but they weren't stupid. Sometimes they forgot that Diana isn't their mother. Where did uncle Taehyung find her? They didn't know but they would assume that she came from sky. The best thing their mother ever did for them was hiring Diana even if her intentions were bad.
Seoljun noticed how his father started to be different towards them. It wasn't a bad difference but more so a good difference. He'd play with them, talk to them, make sure they did their homework but he was still the strict asshole but seoljun was grateful for that, he didn't want a walk over of a father, he just wouldn't grow to be man enough.
There was little bit of fear that resonated in him, he was afraid that Namjoon and Diana found out about his bully while it would be a good thing, seoljun would have to continue facing the bully and things would get worse for him and even though he's happy that Diana is coming, a part of him wishes that Hwasa would be there too, after all she's the one that birthed him.
Taehee on the other hand was ecstatic because Diana was finally paying her a visit. When she improved in her reading and counting the teacher asked her who helped her Taehee would say Deedee which caused the teacher to raise an eyebrow because it wasn't Namjoon or hye jin. Taehee started to draw stick fingers of Diana in brown crayons instead of her mother when she drew family portraits. Her teacher sensed that it was Deedee and she would hang Taehee's drawings up with the rest but it would always stand out. She would boast of how pretty diana was, how great of a cook she was and how much fun she was, which made her classmates jealous, they were all anticipating a visit from diana.
