Lina and Sirius both knew there was something between them. Ever since Lina had moved in with her cousin, James, the two had been hanging out - as friends. Nothing more.
Sure, they had this tension. And it wouldn't go away, no matter how much either tried to suppress it, make it go away. While they both knew it was there, they never once mentioned it, in case it wasn't a mutual thing.
Sirius had tried going out with someone else - Marlene to be exact. He felt horrible for using her as a distraction, but she truly liked him. And Sirius did like her ever so slightly; or that's what he convinced himself of.
Lina had dated a couple of guys, but it never lasted too long. The longest relationship she'd had was with an Australian exchange, Callum White. It was sort of ironic; Callum White and Sirius Black. Opposite last names, with almost opposite appearances. While Sirius had long black locks and an almost honey-coloured skin tone, Callum's hair was blonde, and he had sun tanned, yet pale skin. You could call Callum's appearance that of a stereotypical surfer.
They currently sat at breakfast on a sunny Saturday, the enchanted ceiling of the great hall showing a clear, vivid blue colour. Lina watched as her dormmate, Marlene flirted with Sirius across the table. The blonde would giggle and slap his arm, or rub it, whenever he spoke, in some cases something that was in no way comical.
As if to save her from listening to the couple's exchange, a boy walked up to Lina and tapped her shoulder nervously. She turned, her deep brown curls tumbling over her shoulder as she peered up at the boy with her sparkling hazel eyes. She smiled warmly upon noticing the boy's hesitation.
"Uh, hi..." He mumbled shyly, she thought it was rather refreshing, having someone be shy and hesitant rather than arrogant, cocky and rude.
"Hi." Lina replied brightly. His cheeks flushed pink and he looked down slightly, onto the floor before continuing.
"I- erm, I was... wondering maybe- if- if you'd like to go to Hogsmeade with me next- next weekend?" He stuttered. Sirius watched with an angry, bubbling feeling in the pit of his stomach growing. He was no longer listening to his girlfriend, Mralene, instead eavesdropping into Lina and the boy's conversation. He almost rolled his eyes at how nervous the boy was, but fought the urge.
"Sorry, what year did you say you were in?" Lina questioned, not being very comfortable with going out with boys younger than her. By the looks of it, he might've been a fifth or sixth year. Shame, he was somewhat attractive... cute, you could call him.
"I didn't." He replied. "But I'm in sixth year." Lina bit on her bottom lip as her eyebrows furrowed.
"Oh... I'm sorry, I don't really go out with guys younger than me." Lina felt slightly mean, rejecting him, but she felt it to be necessary. "I'm sorry, I would, really. But I'm not really that type of person, if you know what I mean."
The boy nodded, put out, his curls dancing with the motion. He returned to his own table, and Lina turned to face the rest of her fellow seventh year classmates.
Sirius felt an immense satisfaction upon overhearing Lina turn the boy down. He smirked slightly, stabbing the fried egg on his plate with a fork as he turned his gaze to it.
"Siri? Siri, are you listening to me at all?" Marlene's voice cut through his thoughts like a sharp knife. His head snapped up suddenly to the pretty, blue-eyed, blonde.
"Huh?"
"Honestly, you never listen, Siri." Marlene scoffed, gathering her things. "I'm going to go to class, okay?" Sirius hummed in response, his mind elsewhere once more as his swirling grey irises made eye contact with a pair of beautiful hazel ones.
"Yeah, Siri. Don't you ever listen?" She mocked, grinning and emphasising the nickname Marlene had given him. And while he didn't quite enjoy how the syllables sounded when Marls spoke them, he found he gained a strange fluttery feeling in his stomach when Lina did.

"Never have I ever had feelings for someone I shouldn't have." Lina sighed, giving Remus a look. He just had to say that, didn't he? He had figured out about Lina's little crush on his best friend, and often teased her discreetly about it. Reluctantly, she brought the small shot glass to her lips, tipping it back and feeling the alcohol burning down her throat.
Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Sirius tip his own glass back. She wondered who he could've possibly had feelings for... someone that was out of bounds? She pushed the lingering question out of her mind, though, as they continued their - certainly interesting - game of Never Have I Ever.

"Last one to remain has to clean everything up!" Everyone bolted out of the common room in a hurry, so they wouldn't be required to clean the mess they'd all made. It was no bother, however, as Lina didn't feel the need to rush out. She was actually thankful for the awaiting opportunity of time to herself.
She'd just started to pick up the empty candy wrappers, when the door creaked on it's hinges, alerting her that someone was either leaving or coming in. She turned her hazel eyes upwards, to find herself looking at Sirius.
"Want some help?" He offered, and she accepted, smiling that smile that would make him go weak in the knees ever so slightly. So together, they cleaned up the mess, often exchanging jokes and laughing in the company of one another.
After the task was completed, they simply stood in silence, shoulders brushing occasionally. They could both feel it - the tension. It was always there between them, it could be cut with a knife.
"Do you feel it, too?" Sirius whispered. Lina looked up at him, an eyebrow cocked. "The tension between us. It's always there." There was a great pause of silence, before Lina sighed and answered him.
"Yes."
Sirius tucked a few strands of her wavy brown hair behind her ear, and she turned to face him. They were now looking deeply into each others eyes, hazel meeting gray. Before either of them knew it, they'd both leaned in, their noses almost touching and their warm breaths mixing.
"We probably shouldn't." Lina whispered.
"I know." SIrius replied, and then closed the distance between them.

Oof. Idk, this is kinda bad, but wth. So, Lina is my OC (Reader: well, duh) and I'm actually writing a book about their story. I wanna make it a trilogy but idk really.
What do you think? I guess it's sorta confusing if you don't exactly know the backstory... Would you read my story? I already have some- major - events planned (and written) for the second/third part of their story.
Meh, so anyway... Here's some background info on ma gurl Lina:
|| FULL NAME: Evangelina Potter ||
|| NICKNAMES: Lina, Eva ||
|| FAMILY: Lynch Charles Potter (older brother), James Fleamont Potter (cousin), Euphemia Potter (aunt), Fleamont Potter (uncle), Charles Potter (father, dead), Marie Potter (mother, dead) ||
Yup, so... Pretty lame chapter, but I heard the song up top (There's no way by Lauv & Julia Michaels) and just thought of them. So I wrote about it. Granted, crappy writing but ya know... who cares anyway, right?
