One day [JILY]

I gave you one day. Just one.

You never gave up on me... Why? Why was I, Lily Evans, so special? How come you went after me, when you could have had any of the other girls that passed you in the halls? They certainly liked you more than I did.

But no, for six years, you continued to drown me in your ever so arrogant presence. You were always there.

I won't lie, it annoyed me to no end, Potter. It did.

At the end beginning of this term, I noticed something. You were... different. You didn't bully the first years anymore, you didn't hex anyone that interfered with you and your friends. What happened that made you so... mature?

You stopped nagging me so much. If I hadn't noticed your stares from across the Gryffindor table, I would have thought you'd just stopped liking me.

Slowly, I found that I didn't loathe you so much anymore. I gave in.

So I gave you one day — twenty-four hours.

During that one day, you never failed to make me feel special. You complimented me, made me feel beautiful. You ignored all the girls that ogled at you, and your attention was solely on me.

Just before midnight, you brought me up to the astronomy tower. It was dark, the sky was washed inky black and the milky-white stars dotted it beautifully. Just as the clock was about to chime at midnight, you kissed me.

When I opened my eyes again, you were gone.

I thought I could handle it — you being gone. You were still there, in the castle, but you didn't talk to me, really. You weren't there to make me laugh when I felt blue. My heart ached, it hurt.

I hope that one day was genuine, I really do. I hope that you miss me.

Because I certainly miss you.
