Remus and Sirius had been allowed to stay at James' for a bit of the summer holidays. It was the first time they were staying over the summer, and this meant that they had endless amounts of free time to do what they pleased.

Peter was invited to stay, as well, but his mother had fallen ill, and he thought it best to keep her company.

"No, you go ahead, I'll catch up." James said to the two. "You know the way."

So Remus and Sirius made their way out the door, to the park, without James, who was helping Mrs Potter get the table ready for later. They had offered to help, but Mrs Potter had smiled and ushered away, because 'guests shouldn't have to work in someone else's house'.

The sun was high in the sky, and the grass at the park was a beautiful green, and dewy. It glistened in the afternoon sunlight, the flowers bloomed beautifully. The park was seemingly deserted, until they heard a voice breaking the peaceful silence.

"I'm sorry what did you say?" It was a girl's voice, and as the two boys approached it, they saw not only one, nor two, but four girls. Three of them were huddled, crossing their arms across their chests and glaring at the fourth. She was in the same position - with her arms folded and eyes narrowed.

Though, upon closer inspection, the group of three looked slightly frightened of the fourth girl. And Remus couldn't blame them, she certainly looked intimidating, dressed in tight-fitting, black ripped jeans, black combat boots and a worn leather jacket. Her dark hair was slicked back into a high ponytail, and her lips were turned upward slightly in a sort of indistinct, triumphant smirk.

One of the grouped girls - she looked like the leader - spoke up, her voice was high and annoying, exactly like the one Remus and Sirius had heard earlier.

"I said," she screeched. "What did you say?"

"I said you should go shove a cactus up your sorry arse," leather-jacket-girl replied, smirking cockily. "Maybe then you'll actually realise how much of a prick you are, hey Jenna?"

Jenna - the leader of the group - looked as if she could have been blowing steam out of her nostrils and ears. Her pale, makeup-caked face was going redder by the second, and she started sputtering.

"Y-you— I — h-how dare you?" Her two sidekicks started throwing insults at the leather-jacket-girl as well. "Y-you absolute bitch!" Sirius raised both his eyebrows.

"Puh-lease, you can go put that comeback into an old english dictionary." For that, leather-jacket-girl earned a slap across her cheek. She let out a breathy chuckle, turning her head towards Jenna slowly.

It looked as if she was going to walk away, but just as she started turning her back on Jenna, she swung her arm around, and— WHAM!

Jenna now lay on the ground, after emitting a high pitched squeal. Leather-jacket-girl blew a strand of her hair out of her face, scowling down at Jenna.

"You know," she started, "you really do have a thick skull, Jenna. No wonder no one's been able to break your face yet." Jenna was now scrambling to her feet, with the help of her sidekicks. "Actually, I bet it already has been— is that why you have to layer that much foundation on?"

But before Jenna could make a comeback, leather-jacket-girl was walking away, ponytail swaying wildly behind her.

"Oh, hey guys!" And that was the moment James decided to show up. "What've I missed?"

As the three boys headed back to James' house, the sun cast the sky in a greyish-purple colour. The front door swung open, and they strolled inside leisurely, laughing at a joke Sirius had told them.

"Oh, good," Mrs Potter said, ushering them in. "Y/n has just arrived and dinner's ready." Remus and Sirius looked at each other, confusion written on their faces.

But the confusion soon disappeared, when they walked into the kitchen and found none other than leather-jacket-girl sitting at the bench, talking to Mr Potter. She had hung her leather jacket on the  back of the couch, and her combat boots were nowhere to be found.

"Hey, sis." James said, and leather-jacket-girl's head snapped up to him. The scowl that covered her face at the park was replaced by a dazzling smile that could make anyone instantly happy.

"Jamie!" She squealed excitedly, and flung herself at James. "Oh, I missed you— it's been far too long."

Awkwardly, Remus and Sirius stood behind James, watching the exchange. Apparently, someone (cough, cough— James) forgot to mention to his best friends that he had a sister at all.

The two finally finished their touching reunion talk, and leather-jacket-girl turned to the two other boys. She smiled at them warmly, and stuck out a hand.

Remus shook it politely, introducing himself, but Sirius... he was just being Sirius. He took leather-jacket-girl's hand and brought it to his lips, which brushed the top of her skin and made her raise her eyebrows.

"Sirius Black, it's an honor to meet such a gorgeous angel." Apparently, James and Remus were the only two who found it just a little weird. Leather-jacket-girl seemed to be highly amused, as well as Mr Potter.

"Y/n Potter— I like the hair." She added, flicking a stray bit out of Sirius' grey eyes. Y/n turned and walked back to the kitchen with one last smile.

Sirius, being the ladies man he was, was still grinning and staring at her retreating form. A smack in the back of his head brought him crashing abruptly back down to Earth.

"Oi," he hissed at both of his best friends. "She's off limits."

"So how come you don't go to Hogwarts, y/n?" Remus asked her, as they all chatted merrily at the dinner table. He was sitting directly next to her, so that their elbows brushed occasionally. Sirius was seated across from her, and James next to him, while Mr and Mrs Potter sat on either end of the table.

"I go to Beauxbatons." She replied. Remus was finding that he got a weird tingly feeling underneath his skin every time they touched, or their hands brushed. And he thought to himself, that James' whole 'she's off limits' rule was going to be a lot more difficult to follow than he hoped.

And seeing her in just an overlarge t-shirt, with her hair tumbling down her shoulders the next morning did not help him at all, nor did it help Sirius; but he didn't really take James' rule as seriously (no pun intended) as Remus.
