Jade Turner was still on Draco Malfoy's mind. It didn't matter if he tried to focus on any other girl, his thoughts always came back to her.

He tried to be mad, or ignorant towards her, but the problem was, he couldn't find any flaws in her. Sure, she was dating that Ravenclaw boy, William, but she didn't know that Draco liked her. They had only ever talked thrice, during second year, when she helped him up after he fell to the floor, once during transfiguration when they were paired up to practice a spell, and the other time they had, quite literally, run into each other and then apologised profoundly.

Draco had been having a depressing day. His favourite professor, Snape, had snapped at him in class because Draco had somehow made his potion sizzle and spit it's contents all over the desk. To say the least, the table would have to be replaced. But he couldn't help it, his mind had been on Jade the whole class, as she had smiled at him earlier.

Then, in charms, professor Flitwick had not-so-kindly pointed out that Draco was performing a spell most incorrectly, in front of the entire class. It wouldn't have been so bad, had Potter and his sidekicks not been there, attempting to hold in their laughter.

Not only that, it had not been a difficult spell. It was accio, and they were required to have mastered it two years before. Draco had, in fact, gotten the spell correct on countless occasions, but once again, his thoughts were invaded by a certain green-eyed brunette.

So, as Draco sat slumped in the empty courtyard, depriving himself of happiness because of his embarrassing day, he heard voices approaching. Two of them, one a boy's, and one a girl's; the very one that never seemed to leave him alone, even though they only had one class together.

Jade and her boyfriend were talking loudly, walking to the courtyard, not knowing Draco was there. He was about to leave, as he did have some respect for other people's privacy, when their words became decipherable to him.

Yes, they were talking loudly, but not only that. They were arguing.

Draco knew that he shouldn't be happy about them arguing, or that he shouldn't be eavesdropping, but he was a Slytherin, after all. Cunning as he was, he sunk lower on the bench he was seated upon, and strained his ears to listen.

"I'm not blind, Will!" Jade cried, throwing her arms up and glaring at the boy. "I can see you with her. If you like her better, why don't you just break it off?" Will was speechless, that, Draco could tell, but he was glaring at Jade, as if he had been accused of cheating on his O.W.L.s.

"Fine! You want to break up?!" He declared, as tears sprung to Jade's eyes. "We're done." Will said, and turned on his heel sharply, walking away from a now sobbing Jade.

Draco was no longer happy, he felt heartbroken. Even though it was not him that had been dumped, his heart shattered once more for the girl he had come to love with all her flaws and imperfections.

She slid down with her back against a wall, wrapping her arms around her knees and crying. Draco felt helpless, he didn't know what he should do; go up and comfort her, in the meantime revealing that he was eavesdropping, or stay hidden and listen to her sobs.

He decided the latter was too painful, it made his heart clench painfully. Gathering all the courage he had, he stood and made his way over to her. He was about to make his presence noticed, but that did not seem necessary, as she turned her jade green eyes to him.

"Oh, I-I'm sorry, I-" She stuttered, wiping her eyes on her sleeves and getting up hastily. "I-I'll leave. I didn't notice you- I'm sorry." She began to walk away from him with her head down, but at that moment, he seemed to find his voice, and for that, he was forever grateful.
