Chapter 2 - Muffins
The next day there were no buns. No, there were muffins. The strange boy with the piercing green eyes and incredibly dark curls sorted the muffins in the counter this time.
Lots of different smells swayed to Louis as he entered the small bakery this time. However, this time he got closer to the counter and he watched the curly head more closely. Louis was fascinated by how beautiful his curls looked and how they swung around. He always thought curly hair was more beautiful than his own flat, straight hair, which he had to style every morning.
"Chocolate ... vanilla ... strawberry ...", the stranger murmured to himself.
As the boy was trapped in his own little bubble and counting the muffins, Louis had to grab his attention yet again.
"H-hi ...", he blushed a bit. Louis Tomlinson had just stuttered. That does not happen to him often, only when he's nervous. But why should he be nervous?
How scared this young man must be. Just like yesterday, he was startled and then looked directly at Louis. "Hello.".
"I'd like a grain bread," Louis said, smiling warmly. Again, he watched the boy take a bag and fill it. Louis, why are you staring at the boy? He wondered, punching himself internally. "T-that's 60 cents.", he heard a soft voice say, and pulled out his wallet directly.
Louis just gave him a big smile when he gave him the money.
However, suddenly an elderly lady entered the room. Louis looked straight at her, "Harry, shift change!", she said in a loud voice, quickly shooing the poor boy into the storeroom.
Just when Louis wanted to wish him a nice day, he was gone again. And just as fast as the stranger disappeared, Louis also left the bakery.
Suddenly, however, he realized that the small bag was pretty heavy for only a grain bread being in it. Huh, why is that?, he wondered as he looked inside. Amazed, he now held a muffin in his hand. Funny, he had not ordered any.
It took a few minutes for Louis to grin and giggle in an unmanly way.
