Roman is sitting on a couch, he's wearing a white shirt with a red jacket, and across from him D is sitting, wearing a yellow shirt and a black jacket.

The one time I don't wear my jacket...

I tug on my long sleeve shirt that I chose the wrong day to wear, and take a step inside. "H-Hello" I say slowly walking inside. D looks over at me and smiles, "Virgil, would you be a dear and close the door?" D asks. I comply and close the door, I walk into the room, and sit in a black chair still facing the two of them.

"I asked Patton to send you a letter asking you to meet here, and I'm happy that you came" D says.

It all starts to make sense, no wonder mom never gave me the thing that Patton wanted me to have. No wonder she seemed so giddly on the way over here. D looks at me, waiting for me to say something, when I don't he just turns his head and looks at Roman.

"I'm going to give you both a chance to talk, but as of now, I want to clarify something" D says calmly.

"I told you both that there were people who were coming after Roman, what I should have said is that it was only one kid. One punk who knows Roman's father, who I knew would rat you out to your dear old dad. I spoke to him and he even told me that your dad had asked him to follow you home to see where you are staying, and who you are talking with in the day. I told Virgil that there was a gang that was going to come to beat you up, because I didn't want him to call the authority about this. I also knew that Roman would take all of this and stay in his house for a few days, enough days for me to convince the kid to leave you two alone. The reason I'm telling you this now is because the kid is moving towns, after some...trama."

I raise my eyebrows and wonder what D did to that kid.

"The other reason why I am telling  you this is because you two need to be alert, I can't be the only one watching out for you two clowns. Roman's dad is bound to try any way he can to get you back...I know that I lied, but I'm only trying to help you both" he says.

I shift in my seet, feeling 10x more uncomfortable than before. I look at Roman, who is facing away from me and D, and all I can do is sigh, and turn my attention back to D.

"How do I know I can trust you? You lied to me...I know that you lied to help someone in the end, but it was still a lie. You could've told me, but instead you just spun your little lies, you didn't just say lies, you dragged me into lying with you. You're the reason I had to lie to him" I gesture at Roman, "and you're the whole reason we're sitting here right now. Up until a few days ago you've been nothing but trouble for me and all of my friends, then you decide to come around and be all buddy buddy?" I ask, raising my voice.

D frowns, "I only did it to-" I shake my head, stopping him from finishing the sentence, I don't want to hear it anyways. I fold my arms and lean back in my chair.

Roman shifts in his seat and I hear his soft voice break the silence, "Do you really care?"

I look at D, unsure if he's talking to me or to D. But all D does is shrug, "I may not care as much as the others do, but I'm not a monster" D claims. Roman keeps his back to us but continues to ask, "Do you really care then?"

D leans forward, "I..."

But he has nothing to say.

The question has a lot of weight in it, and any answer will have equal weight.

I find myself smiling as I look at Roman's back, finding comfort in the idea that he also is mad at D, the guy whose the reason we had to break up. My smile turns into a smirk as I look at D. All he does is lower his head and stay quiet.
I watch him, waiting for an answer, but I don't think he's going to give us one.

"I...I do care Roman...I-I'm so...I'm sorry"

I just stare at D.

Did he really just says that?

Does Roman really believe that?

No, Roman wouldn't, D's done too much damage to us for Roman to trust him.

I hear something shift and I look at the other couch, Roman is standing up, and I watch him walk over to D.
I wait for him to yell, to hit him, to laugh.

All Roman does is get on his knees, and hugs D. D's face changes from shock to something else, I can't find the right word, either way, he cries into Roman's shoulder. He just sits there and cries, and Roman continues hugging him. I watch the two of them, suddenly feeling really lonley, and really confused. Do they want me to leave them alone or?
Roman pulls away from D and looks him in the eyes, "I forgive you." Roman says, and I see a small smile start to spread across his face, turning into a small chuckle, D smiles as well, and laughs. D leans forward and gives Roman another hug.

And I just sit there.

Suddenly feeling very sick, and out of place.

Roman then turns to me, and our eyes meet. I just stare into his gorgeous eyes, they're dark, and hold too many emotions for me to even begin to understand. "Do you really care?" He asks. I feel my stomach twist into a knot. My mouth suddenly feels very dry, and my eyes feel very wet.
