When I woke up, I felt pain course all throughout my stiff body. As I laid on a hospital bed with white sheets, I felt like a dead corpse. Every bone inside of me ached. My skull was pounding from the massive headache I had. I had to squeeze my eyes shut when the sharp jabs became too unbearable. This pain was probably worse than the time Cha-Cha shot my leg. At least then, I had Grace and all of the Hargreeves' advanced medical equipment.

Once I mustered up enough encouragement in my mind, I sat up slowly from the bed I was laying on. I groaned softly from the achy feeling that I felt throughout my entire body. I positioned myself so I was sitting upright.

My eyes moved around the room in slow motion. I was in a square room, which was colored completely white. A few rectangular lights shined brightly down on me from the ceiling. The only pieces of furniture in the whole room were the bed I was sitting on and a side table beside me with a glass of water on top. The room reminded me of one of those rooms in a psych ward, where the insane people are usually forced to stay in.

I noticed that something wasn't right about myself. I felt different.. or strange all of a sudden. The feeling was entirely indescribable, but it was something that I was already familiar with. I lifted my hands in front of my eyes and waved them in the air to examine them.

I glanced over at the table and stared at the glass of water. There were two ice cubes floating at the top of the cup. I reached for the cup and I gasped when my whole hand completely went through it. I quickly pulled my hand back and held it firmly on my chest. I looked at the water again and attempted to grab it but the same exact thing happened.

My lips twitched upward into a smirk, when I realized that my powers had finally been restored. I was so happy and excited that I began to laugh softly to myself. I had almost forgotten what it was like to be able to do something no one else can do. As much as I was against human experiments, I loved the feeling of knowing that I was special.

Suddenly, a section of the white wall in front of me slowly opened, revealing the same female scientist who had taken me from my cell for the surgery before. She strolled over to the side of my bed casually with her clipboard and pen both in her hands. An Order guard now stood in the doorframe and watched over the two of us.

I played with the edge of the light sheet that was laid on top of me as the scientist stared into my eyes, her smile never faltering. "Subject A7, correct?"

"Most people just call me Alexa," I said, sarcasm evident in my voice. The young scientist didn't seem too impressed by my witty remark though. "Correct."

Her green eyes averted from me and were now glued to the paper on her clipboard. She clicked her pen once and began jotting down some notes. "Nice to meet you. I am Doctor Allie Davis," she said. "You are currently in one of our compound's recovery rooms because you have just underwent DNA reconstruction surgery." A strand of her dark, auburn hair fell out of the low bun she wore, so she immediately tucked it behind her ear. "I'm assuming that you have a few questions-"
