I pace around the room as Adam and Dennis watch me.
"Why don't you sit down Carlos? Adam suggests.
"Sit down?" I ask stopping. "Maybe because Thai isn't a time for sitting, Adam." I hiss.
"She's going to be fine."
"Did you see her? Did you see how busted up she was? She had bruises all over her face and arms and her lip was bleeding like crazy and her nose was swollen up and..." "It's all my fault!" I shout. "If I would've hurried up and got outside to her then that dick wouldn't have even gotten the chance to speak to her!"
"Carlos," Adam stands up and walks to me. "Just take a deep breath. It's not your fault. You got there, if it weren't for you then that guy wouldn't be beat up and Julie wouldn't be here getting fixed up. So calm down, she will be fine." He reassures me, but I don't listen.
If it weren't for me none of this would've happened and she wouldn't be hurt! She waited for me, if she didn't wait for me she would be fine! I'm her bodyguard, I'm supposed to protect her!
"Julie Bane?" We look over to the door to Julie's room and see the nurse standing at the door.
"Is she okay?" I'm the first to ask.
She nods. "She'll be Fine. She just got beat up pretty badly and she'll need some rest for a few days to heal."
"Can we see her?" Dennis asks.
"Yes," She pauses. "But I'm just warning you, it's not a very pleasant sight." She says before stepping aside to let us in.
I rush in there and over to Julie's bedside.
"Julie?" I ask, sitting on my knees next to the bed. She lets out a little moan sound. I start lifting the blanket from her face but she grabs it and holds it down. "Can I see your face?"
"No." She grumbles.
"Why not?"
"Because it's ugly. More ugly than it was before." I look over to Adam and Dennis who are standing in the doorway. Dennis walks over to the other side of her bed and rags her hand.
"Julie honey, it's Dad, you were never ugly and you're not ugly now. Now take the blanket off of your face." He says softly.
I'm shocked of how sweet he is, even though he doesn't really know Julie, he's so gentle with her, just like e was with Sadie.
Julie slowly pulls the blanket off and Adam gasps so I shoot him a look telling him to shut up. I bite down on my lip and Dennis looks down at his feet.
"Is it that bad?" She starts crying.
"No, no Julie. It's fine. Just a little bruised, that's all." That's an understatement.
"Stop lying."
"It'll heel and you'll be back to your beautiful self." I give her a smile.
"I want to go home." She says.
"Can we take her home?" Dennis asks the nurse and she nods. "Ok, do you want to come spend the night at my house?" He asks Julie.
"No, I want my cat."
"You can see your cat later." I say.

We walk through the doors and to the living room.
"This is my house. It's where you would've grown up of your mother and I kept you when you were born." Dennis says to Julie, I don't think he saw but I saw the glare she gave him.
"Well why don't we lay you down?" Adam suggests and I walk to the big white couch and sit down, still cradling Julie's little body in my arms.
The two guys stare at me with a questioning look. I sit there confused why they're looking at me like that, until Julie opens her mouth.
"Carlos, I'm beaten half to death but I can still lay down myself." She says so I awkwardly lay her down beside me. I gently pull her head down so her heads laying on my lap and I start stroking her hair slowly.
"Are you cold?" Adam asks as he grabs a big soft blanket and covers her up with it. "Are you hungry?" She shakes her head. "Thirsty?" She shakes her head again.
"Do you need anything?" Dennis asks.
"No." She rolls over onto her side and shuts her eyes.
"Carlos," I look up at Adam and Dennis who are in the kitchen, gesturing for me to come over. I look at Julie's sleeping body before cautiously getting up and walking over to them.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"So what's going on between you and Julie?" Adam whispers.
"What do you mean?" I ask confused.
"You and Julie, are you two... you know." He smirks.
"No!" I whisper shout. "Why would you think that?"
"Well you two seem really close." Dennis says.
"Well we're not. Now good bye." I stomp back over to the living room, ignoring their laughs as I do, and sit on the love seat and look at Julie again. Poor girl.
